Product Description

The tonering is an integral part of the rim tapering away slightly to the point where it meets the Remo Weatherking banjo head. Wood from the mahogany family is used in producing a high gloss wooden resonator which is held firmly by and is evenly tensioned with 24 chrome brackets.

The solid mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard attached to it with pearl dot position markers and small side dot makers at frets 3,5,7,10,12,15 and 17. There is an integral truss rod inside the banjo neck who’s adjuster is nicely covered by a bell shaped plate held in position by 3 tiny screws. The neck attaches to the body with a Gibson Banjo Style single lag bolt which is really useful for altering the banjo action to accommodate different string gauges and different styles of playing.

The finishing touches include a logo on the headstock, fully bound fingerboard and resonator, a white frosted plastic 11” diameter banjo head a 3/8” maple rosewood tipped bridge. Both the Elton style banjo tailpiece and the positive tuners are plated to match the rest of the hardware as is the single bracket fastening Gibson style armrest. All the woodwork is stained and glossed which makes this banjo look really attractive.

One small but cleaver feature about this banjo is that even though the resonator is attached via 4 tradition thumbscrews it can be easily converted into an open back banjo by removing these screws and taking off the resonator within a matter of a few minutes.
