What we say:

At A Glance

A favourite choice of many metal players, Ibanez have been providing well built and high performing guitars for some time. The RG is a classic model that many musicians know and love and from this offering, we can see why. Ibanez have managed to bring together a number of excellent and player friendly features for a very respectable price. The Quantum pickups in the HSH configuration certainly sound the part and with the aid of a 5-way tone switch deliver tonal excellence with ease. The construction is what you expect from Ibanez and the end result is a well built guitar ready for hours of gigging. Perfect for those looking for their first serious metal guitar.

Features We Love:

Wizard III Maple Neck

Ibanez are favoured amongst many rock and metal players due to the thin and flat neck. It provides a fast playing surface and features solid construction. With 24 jumbo frets you have everything you need to get those licks up to speed and travel up and down the neck with ease.

Quantum HSH Pickups

These pickups have been voiced with heavy music in mind. The fast bass response allows for clarity when the speedy staccato riffing is paramount. The mids and highs are powerful but not piercing so regardless of what you choose to play, it will be captured well on the Quantums.

EdgeZero II Bridge

Joining together speedy tuning, pitch stability and tremolo needs, the EdgeZero II is an impressive piece of kit. You can perform all of your favourite tremolo tricks without having to worry about drifting out of tune in the process.

Pros:

  • High quality Ibanez construction
  • Perfect for the metal player
  • Perfect for the intermediate level guitarist

Very pleased with this purchase. Never bought a guitar without playing it first, so I thought it was a bit risky. Very pleased however. It plays well and looks amazing. Can?t put it down!

Martyn T. - 9/12/2020

Fantastic instrument, which looks beautiful. It plays great but needed some minor adjustment to eliminate fret buzz.

This guitar is awesome. The pickup config allows great options, especially if combined with an effects unit. I upgraded to this from a lesser starter model and I think this will give me longevity for years. A little heavier than I thought it would be, but it is loaded in the body so understandable.
