What we say:

Ozark, named after the beautiful and bleak mountain range that stretches from Arkansas right through Kansas & Missouri and into Oklahoma, take their inspiration from the rich seam of folk culture that has permeated this area for centuries. This area is rightly heralded for its strong roots music: the ‘mountain music’ genres of country, folk and bluegrass are especially potent in the hills of the Ozarks and the instruments used in these types of songs - banjoes, mandolins, bouzoukis and more - are the speciality of Ozark instruments. These high quality instruments are designed to bring you authentic looks, sounds and the feel of true mountain instruments.

This beautiful Bouzouki is made from solid timbers: maple for the back and sides and Spruce for the top, all hand finished in Romania! The slotted headstock gives more rootsy authenticity and the instrument itself has a gorgeous chiming sound with its four courses of double strings. It is tuned to the same notes as the four bottom strings of a guitar so guitarists will be able to adapt to this very easily!

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 4.7/5 (3 reviews)

For the price I could afford, it was a nice instrument. After a few of the normal expected adjustments (eg: Truss Rod), a very playable and enjoyable experience.

I have no experience of playing a bouzouki but a little with a mandolin. I was not certain if it would come strung with a high G and D string, it does not. it is strung with four double courses in GDAE like a Violin or Mandolin. The scale is 670mm hence it is strung more like an Irish or Celtic Bouzouki. I am not sure if it can be restrung to standard CFAD with high strings. It is a economy price range instrument and the intonation is not very good perhaps new strings and a set up will help, other wise its a well made neat sturdy instrument.
