Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy - Our Charity Partner
nformation about our partner charity.
GUITARGUITAR are proud to sponsor Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland. Established in 1996, NRMTS provides access to music therapy services across Scotland and develops awareness of music therapy. Thousands of children and adults have been helped by NRMTS and their work continues to provide invaluable support to children and adults with additional needs. Music therapy is grounded in the belief that everyone can respond to music, no matter how ill or disabled. During music therapy sessions, the therapist will endeavour to engage each person in meaningful musical activity. This will commonly involve the use of a variety of musical instruments including piano, guitar, tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments and voice. The therapists are trained to encourage and respond to the individualís exploration of sound, providing musical support, addressing personal needs and generally facilitating an environment in which individuals can feel safe to openly express themselves.
GUITARGUITAR have been privileged to work closely with NRMTS over the past decade. Our work ranges from monetary donations to providing signed guitars for their annual charity auctions, which have raised tens of thousands of pounds over the past ten years. GUITARGUITAR's Managing Director Graham Bell is also responsible for establishing the Gibson @ Gleddoch Golf Day, a first class golf tournament with live music, Gibson guitar giveaways and all-star players. In conduction with Gibson Guitars and GUITARGUITAR, Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland has raised thousands of pounds through these events.
We hope to continue our work with Nordoff-Robbins long into the future but we can't do it without your help. If you can donate anything at all, please use the link below, everything is appreciated.
