Aimed primarily at players on the heavier side of the spectrum, the NS-2 is a sensitive noise gate. A noise gate, as the name suggests, senses when your tone ends and clamps down on the background noise that can accumulate with high gain sounds. This keeps things clean and professional sounding: it also makes your heavy sounds seems even heavier by comparison to the quietness around it!

You can set it to be rather harsh so that the gate closes in nice and early, giving your riffs a tight, machine-gun like staccato effect; or you can leave things a little more open and natural, so that the NS-2 just does a little 'sweeping' up around the stray buzzes and whines.
