What we say:

Jim Root's original signature guitar, this fabulous are distinctive Telecaster, was an instant hit on release over eight years ago and remained popular ever since.

It's not hard to see why: for a new generation of players insisting on thick, heavy, high gain sounds but rejecting the extreme lines and pointed edges of the previous generation's heavy metal guitars, this type of model was a perfect combination. EMG active pickups are THE choice for metal; they fill every frequency on the spectrum with a very high output signal. It's not wonder Jim Root and countless other choose these for their crushing riffs. The mahogany body and ebony fretboard assure that this ferocity has body and edge.

Looks wise, it is a sleek and modern telecaster with clean edges: the flat white finish with black parts looks very classy and subtle: in other words, nothing at all like how it sounds! The EMG 60 is actually capable of very tasty clean sounds so the brutality can be tempered with some levity.

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (3 reviews)

I love telecasters, but this is something different. I’m not particularly a fan of Slipknot and you don’t need to be to love this guitar, the EMG’s take it to another level, plays like a dream as well
