In the late 1960s the situation for US guitar manufacturers became difficult: guitars that were made in Japan, looking very similar to US guitars, were flooding the market but at a much lower price. These guitars increasingly endangered the US manufacturers dominance on the market, and a few American companies reacted to that development in an appropriate manner: They did not take any legal steps but instead launched a counter offensive. That’s when “Sigma Guitars” was born.

I have a Martin mahogany 12 fret, and the Sigma is a good second guitar. Very happy with the action, sound etc

Like the idea of this guitar being based on a Martin of the same model number. I have watched reviews where the two have been compared and the Sigma comes out really well for around a quarter of the price! A beautiful looking instrument, matt mahogany, and very pleasing to play. My only criticism would be that there is no second button on the guitar body to attach a strap so it would have to go on the machine head, which is a look I don?t particularly like but this is purely personal taste. For me, the perfect guitar.

Fantastic guitar for the price. Proper Grover branded tuners for a start. Great "old style" looking guitar with modern build. To make it more in-keeping with the image, I darkened the very white label inside the guitar. Playability is fantastic. The fret work was perfect, the truss rod spot-on. The nut is cut well and I slightly reduced the action by grinding down the saddle a little. The guitar sound is very tight and will probably remain so. It's never going to be the loudest but it does have a clear sound. It would be hard to do better for this price.

A really nice looking and sounding instrument

Tim G. - 26/4/2020

Excellent value for money, well built, superb sounding guitar and set up to a higher standard than most of the more expensive competitors.
