What we say:

At A Glance:

The Strandberg J Artisan Dark Blue Stain Resin is part of a series that is normally reserved only for the Japanese market. After huge popularity and high demand for these Japenese made guitars, Strandberg has decided to open up the series to the rest of the world with a very limited edition collection. Over the next year, 120 truly unique guitars will be launched through twelve runs, with a new run of 10 guitars launching each month. This model is part of the very first run, making it an exceptionally special guitar and a fitting celebration of everything Strandberg stands for

Beautifully Handcrafted in Matsumoto, Japan by Makoto “Nick” Sugimoto and his team of expert luthiers, this stunning J Artisan Boden has been crafted from Dracontomelon dao "LEO" and features a striking Buckeye Burl top with colourful resin that works perfectly with Strandberg's modern aesthetic.

We're excited to bring this breathtaking model to the UK and the standard it has been crafted to really has to be seen to be believed!

Features We Love:

Makoto “Nick” Sugimoto

Most notable for his incredible hand-crafted Sugi Guitars Nick Sugimoto has worked with some of the very best musicians in the world, including Adrian Belew, Allan Holdsworth, George Benson, Jaco Pastorius and Steve Vai. Nick and his team are highly regarded for their exceptional level of craftsmanship and innovative approach to design and finishing guitars.

Recently Sugimoto and his team have worked closely with Ola Strandberg to create the Japan only J Artistan series, known as the gold standard of Strandberg guitars. These rare guitars have a cult following throughout the world and are extremely desirable, in celebration of this, this new line of only 120 Japanese made Strandbergs, comprised of 12 runs of individually unique guitars offers the rest the world access to the very best Strandberg available. Each guitar also includes a certificate of authenticity that has been hand signed by both Nick Sugimoto and Ola Strandberg

Extremely Rare "First Run" Guitar

The guitar has been hand crafted by Nick Sugimoto as part of the first run of twelve, with only 10 guitars made in each run, Nick Sugimoto and his team have the time to fully dedicate their attention to each guitar, ensuring meticulous craftsmanship and a truly unique and special guitar.

Suhr Pickups

After designing such a comfortable guitar it's only right that the tone is perfected too. The Boden features a set of Suhr humbuckers. The SSH+ in the bridge is a true high output humbucker offering punch, clarity, and a wealth of warm harmonic midrange content. The SSV neck humbuckers oozes with vintage humbucker tone but refined for the modern day featuring a clarity and definition that is ideal to cut through the mix. Together they provide a unique, versatile tone that not only lets the guitar speak but, pairs perfectly with the design ethos of Strandberg.

Rev7 Hardware

Innovation has long been part of the Strandberg brand and as innovative as their hardware has been they still strive to improve with each iteration. Still made from aircraft grade aluminium to retain the unique acoustic sound of the Boden that is; clear, organic, and balanced with a fast and articulate pick attack. The Rev7 hardware also now features a self-locking mechanism in the bridge pieces, this provides a more robust design, improved tone transfer, and serves to make string height adjustments even easier. The newly re-designed hardware coupled with classic tonewoods provides a warm, woody tone, that maintains tightness and punch all while providing a balanced touch sensitive feel.

Who Is It For?
