Tascam DP-006 Digital Recorder

Excellent bit of kit for recording anywhere, and especially useful when I don't want to fire up my big recording equipment.

I had great service from this shop. Before this, my first visit, they answered the telephone promptly and quickly checked they had in stock what I wanted. On my visit they were very friendly and though it took a little while to find it in the store room I did have confidence it would be there! More happy with the price and the quality of the item, a TASCAM DP-006. I am really pleased ??

The Tascam DP-006 is just what I'd hoped it would be when I read the spec. Since receiving it - great quick service from Guitar Guitar - I've put it to use and can verify it's super simple to find your way around. The recorded sound quality is great when inputting guitar and keyboard sources using the jack sockets on the back. I've also made use of the inbuilt mics to record acoustic guitar and vocals, which, again, sounded really good. The only thing i haven't tried to do is bounce four tracks to two but i'm expecting that to be simiarly straightforward. So, yes, this is a most useful piece of kit for getting down a good representation of your ideas in a quality format. It only loses the above 'features' mark for the lack of on-board effects models.

I had a Korg PXR4 4-track as my go-to demo multitrack and I was looking for a comparable device in terms of ease of use and quality sound. With the Tascam DP 006 I'm pretty sure I've found it. It's easy to use and the recording quality is really good, crisp and accurate. Some reviews mention the lack of a back-light on the screen but I haven't found it an issue. The one missed opportunity (for me) is no onboard effects - which the Korg had. Some compression and basic EQ. That aside this is a great option. After trying it out I bought a second, which, perhaps, tells you all you need to know.

A super little recorder. Straightforward instructions and a nice sound in the headphones at least. Haven't exported any sound files yet, but hopefully that'll be straightforward too.

I used to have the tape version of this many years ago and I wanted to get back into some home recording I could use the PC and software but the Tascam is more convient to use once you get used to the setup and menu system plus you can move around rooms and once you have recorded you have the option to upload the tracks to edit on other systems. The built in microphones are good for quick capture of practice and ideas without having to set up other gear. I've only used it a few times since I've had it but plan to make good use of it

this is a great recorder, easy to use and I was recording within minutes. Compared to my old 4 track cassette recorder its so much better. Good price too

Just started using Tascam dp-006, find it very easy to follow the instructions and use, will know more as I progress, much easier than the Micro Boss, which I have had to sell as I could not get my head around it.
