From Monday the 20th to Friday the 28th of May we are giving away a brand new Akai pedal every single day!
Tuesday Competition - Win an Akai Phase Shifter Pedal

In order to win the Akai Phase Shifter Pedal pictured below, all you have to do is 'like' the GuitarGuitar Facebook page and answer the following simple question in the comments section below before midnight. You may also optionally enter on Twitter (see below).

Features:

Phase Shifter, from the Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop, is one of the more esoteric pedals in the product line. Phase includes A and B frequency toggle-switches and a Rate knob in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and three control mechanisms provide precision control.

Phase Shifter provides an instantly recognizable swirling sound. The Rate knob sets how often the oscillation effect waveform repeats as well as the resulting pitch and depth of the signal. The A and B frequency toggle-switches can be set in four different ways. Combining these four settings with subtle changes to the Rate knob results in a range of lush, atmospheric ambience that swirls around as much or as little as desired. Phase is powered by the included 9-volt battery or 9v DC adapter (sold separately).

With its comprehensive modelling of traditional analogue subtractive synthesis, uniquely powerful multi-effects engine and expressive filter, the award-winning rack-mount Supernova and its successor, Supernova II, were the most powerful synths of their time –class leaders, still revered today.

Sound designer Phil McDonald created the iconic sounds of the Supernova that changed the sound of dance music at the turn of the Millennium, powering classics by Orbital, ATB, Jean Michel Jarre and A Guy Called Gerald, plus many more. Now, with the massive revival of interest in the sounds and music of the period, Novation is proud to announce the release of two new SoundPacks for the MiniNova and UltraNova, containing sounds from the original Supernova sound banks, by the original sound designer.

These SoundPacks give you the original classic sounds of the turn of the century – and they’re absolutely free. Listen to a selection of the presets on SoundCloud at https://soundcloud.com/novationmusic/super

The first of the two SoundPacks, with 64 sounds, is available now, as part of Novation’s 21st Anniversary celebrations, with the second pack available later in 2013.

MiniNova and UltraNova users can download the Supernova SoundPack from http://uk.novationmusic.com/soundpacks - it’s FREE!

Here’s a video that shows you how to install the Supernova SoundPack:
If you want to learn the piano, the HP-507 digital piano is the perfect choice as it not only sounds like an acoustic piano, it also has an authentic piano keyboard action just like an acoustic grand piano. But because the HP-507 is a digital piano, it can do things that an acoustic piano cannot. Plug in headphones so you can practise without disturbing your family or neighbours or plug in a USB drive to play along with your favourite tunes, which makes practising fun. The HP-507 also allows you to split the keyboard so the student and teacher can play side by side.

Better still, the new Piano Partner iPad app transforms an iPad into a version of Roland’s popular DigiScore application, which displays sheet music on the screen and follows you as you play the notes. The Piano Partner app also includes exercises which develop your ability to recognise musical notes, essential when it comes to reading and playing back sheet music. The Piano Partner app is a free download, and if you buy an HP-507 while stocks last, we’ll throw in the iPad on which it runs. If you’ve always wanted to play the piano, choose the HP-507: you’ll have the realistic sound, the authentic piano action, the stylish design and a teaching system to help you become a better piano player.

Piano Partner is a free iPad app that provides a fresh, interactive way to learn and play a piano. It contains three applications: Flash Card, a fun way to develop your listening and reading skills, Content Browser which gives easy access to the on-board songs and tones and DigiScore Lite which displays the on-board songs as digital notation. You can connect your iPad and piano wirelessly with Roland’s WNA1100-RL Wireless USB Adapter (sold separately), or with a USB cable via the Apple iPad Camera Connection Kit (sold separately). We all know what it’s like to want that new bit of gear so badly, yet it always seems out of reach. To help, Roland’s Take it Today finance scheme lets you spread the payments of your new gear without putting down a wallet-crippling deposit.

The Roland TD-15 V-Drums kits offer drummers the kind of features that are perfect for recording, live performance and practice:

All-mesh V-Pads

A module with 500 instruments and 100 kits

Cymbals with natural swinging motion

SuperNATURAL ‘Behaviour Modelling’ technology

Throughout March and April 2013, we’ve made it that little bit easier for drummers to get their hands on the TD-15K and TD-15KV electronic drum kits.

Playing piano is great fun but it also brings some serious benefits. As well as the pure enjoyment of playing back a piece of music, regular players also experience less stress and improved wellbeing, with children in particular gaining discipline and important social skills. So if that’s the case, why isn’t everyone learning to play piano?

As usual, there are many reasons. The pace of modern life is so frantic, there’s seldom enough time to learn a new skill, and even the most enthusiastic piano player struggles to put in enough time. And although there’s no substitute for a qualified piano teacher, not everyone has the time or money to commit to regular lessons. If you’re a parent, you may be worried that your child will get bored and give up. If you’re playing yourself, you may find it hard to stay motivated with just a book of sheet music for company.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way. Come along to your nearest Roland Planet store and in just 30 minutes, we’ll show you how technology can help your whole family learn to play the piano – saving you time, keeping you motivated and bringing the fun back.

Gibson Min-Etune

Min-ETune is a small compact battery powered tuning unit attached to the back of the guitar — a mighty enhancement to an already great instrument. No need for screws, wiring or routing. In fact, the system is hardly visible from the front of the guitar. You can adjust the tuning pegs manually or turn on the Min-ETune to choose from 12 popular tunings or program 6 of your own.

A guitar with Min-ETune looks the same, feels the same, plays the same and rocks the same — it’s just always in tune. Perfect for home, studio and gigging — it even adjusts your guitar's tunings to match other instruments' with the reference tuning feature. Rock longer with the fast and accurate Min-ETune, quickly tuning your guitar 80 to 100 times on one charge.

We are pleased to announce that Roland are giving away a free iPad Mini and one year of free insurance to everyone who buys a Jupiter-50 during March!

The Roland Jupiter-50 is the latest synth in Roland’s acclaimed Jupiter range. It’s a direct descendant from the legendary Jupiters of the ‘80s, and is quite simply one of the most expressive synths you can buy. Of course, you’ve got the classic sounds that you’d expect – searing leads, warm and uplifting pads along with gritty, dirty basses – but you’ve also got an array of beautifully authentic acoustic sounds, underpinned by our SuperNATURAL technology. This behaviour modelling technology emulates not just the sound of an instrument, but also the way the instrument behaves in relation to your playing. It all adds up to create an instrument that will realise your musical ambitions like no other. If you buy a Jupiter-50 from us during March, Roland will send you an Apple iPad Mini for free!

Once you’ve got your free iPad Mini, you’ll be able to hook up your new Jupiter-50 to the super-useful Jupiter Synth Editor, a free App Store download that lets you tweak every tone to perfection. The JP Synth Editor is easy to use, too – the large display of the iPad makes an ideal graphical interface to visually control the comprehensive parameters of the Jupiter-50 and to turn the various parts on and off.

Finally, your new Jupiter comes with a three-year warranty (registration required) as well as twelve months insurance cover. To take part, read the terms below, buy a Jupiter-50 and Roland will take care of the rest!

As the world's first super jumbo, it was a groundbreaking instrument from day one but that was only the first achievement of history's most beloved acoustic guitar. The J-200 was first popular among Hollywood stars with its distinctive looks and big body style. Over the years it became the go-to acoustic guitar for some of music's biggest names -

So what makes the Gibson J-200 such a popular guitar? The answer lies in its distinctive tone, a sound unmatched by its competitors. The J-200 is great for "full chord" music due to its exceptionally wide range of musical expression. The J-200's deeper low end, slight dip in the mids and crisp, sharp highs has lead to it being known as the "no extra EQ needed acoustic" by sound engineers the world over. The extra large super jumbo body also provides a big, expressive sound that has yet to be matched by another guitar. Today, the Gibson J-200 comes in three main variants, which you can read about below.

The simple elegance of the J-200 Studio is evident in every detail, including its premium Sitka spruce top and attractive maple back and sides, releasing a rich, full, and balanced high end and grand projection.
Gibson J-200 Standard
From its inaugural appearance in 1937, Gibson’s J-200 set a standard others have been trying to match ever since. Today—nearly 71 years later—the legacy of Gibson’s “King of the Flat-tops” lives on in the new J-200 Standard. Upon its introduction in the late 1930s, the J-200 immediately filled a need for a deeper, more balanced and powerful sound. It gave purveyors of the new American music scene of the 1930s a reliable, well-built instrument, capable of projecting the sound of the guitar well beyond that of any other acoustic on the market—a fact that still holds true today.
With it comes direct access to all the features needed to create patterns, write automation, and perform live.

SparkLE Creative Drum Machine serves up classic ''TR-style'' workflow via its brightly backlit step sequencer buttons, while a musical platter of bangin'' beats can quite literally be banged out using its eight velocity- and pressure-sensitive backlit pads. Stunning live performances are a breeze thanks to the advanced Looper and beat-slicing functions, while beats can be transformed on the fly with the touch-sensitive FX pad that features eight filter modes (including the famed Oberheim SEM V filter featured in Arturia''s acclaimed Oberheim SEM V soft synth namesake) and seven Slicer modes. Three assignable encoders ease writing automation and realtime sound control. More musical still, TUNE mode permits playing sounds chromatically across those 16 step sequencer buttons or eight pads — try having the kick drum follow the bass root note for truly trouser-flapping lows, play a synth bass/lead sound, or transform percussion sounds into pitched instruments… it''s all there for the hands-on taking!

Software-wise, SparkLE Creative Drum Machine makes use of the same full-featured Spark Engine software shipping with the original SPARK Creative Drum Machine. It includes an awesome library of over 1,500 instruments and 100 kits, providing top-notch, professional sounds covering a variety of dancefloor-friendly genres and stylings, ever-expandable with Arturia add-ons (like the Hip Hop Essentials and DubStep Essentials Expansion Packs).

Priced to go, there has never been a better time than now to add a little sparkle to your rhythmic creativity with SparkLE Creative Drum Machine!

NAMM 2013: Arturia reveals MiniLab compact MIDI controller

NAMM 2013: PRESS RELEASE: Music software and hardware company Arturia is proud to announce the NAMM 2013 launch of MiniLab, a stylishly compact and bijou Universal MIDI Controller that''s far from being short on features…

MiniLab is a USB bus-powered powerhouse, featuring 25 velocity-sensitive mini-keys alongside brand-new pitch and modulation touch-strip controls for maximising musical expression in a highly-portable package. 16 multifunction encoders — more than those found on any available comparably-sized USB/MIDI controller — ensure everything is at hand to program or perform, wherever life may take or lead you. And if that''s not enough to keep users entertained, two banks of brightly backlit performance pads can be easily assigned as pads, MIDI CC buttons, or program change switches for even speedier interactions with whatever device MiniLab is connected to (via its cleverly-recessed USB bus-power port and sustain pedal input).

Of course, music is where the heart is, and at the heart of MiniLab is the benevolently bundled Analog Lab software solution. With over 5,000 legendary classic keyboard and synth sounds carefully chosen from the Mini V, Modular V, CS-80 V, ARP2600 V, Jupiter-8V, Prophet 5, Prophet VS, Oberheim SEM V, and Wurlitzer V range of Analog Classic software instruments, Analog Lab offers speedy and simple editing with the most essential parameters for personalising presets available onscreen and for tweaking using the MiniLab controls. Notably, those TAE® (True Analog Emulation) synthesis-powered sounds are not sample-based, but are actually running the full synth engine behind the scenes, so offer unparalleled flexibility.

Yet there''s more: owners of those individual Analog Classics or the all-encompassing V Collection 3.0 bundle can open an Analog Lab sound, edit it in the original software instrument, then add it to their Analog Lab library, thereby taking their sound and workflow to a higher state of musical interactivity. Speaking of which, MiniLab is also compatible with Apple iPad and iPhone products (using a camera connection kit).

So, whatever way users choose to use it, musical life on the move''s just got a whole lot sweeter thanks to MiniLab, the world''s premier mobile keyboard solution!

Korg Wavedrum Global Edition: A World of Percussion

The new Korg Wavedrum Global represents the next—and most powerful—evolution in the Wavedrum family.
Korg KingKorg official information

KingKORG is the full-fledged analog modelling synthesizer you''ve been waiting for. It carries on the design philosophy of classic Korg analog synthesizers such as the MS-20 and the Mono/Poly, which gave rise to the Prophecy, the Z1, the MS2000, and the RADIAS. This exciting new instrument delivers the unique characteristics of a dedicated synthesizer, especially the fun of transforming the sound by tweaking an impressive array of knobs. While technologically impressive, KingKORG is approachable even to players who are new to synthesizers. And it particularly shines on stage, not only with its great sound, but also literally with a gorgeous champagne gold finish, befitting its royal name – KingKORG.

Features

A full-fledged, 61-key analog modeling synthesizer designed for live performance

Powerful oscillators that are understandable to the beginner, yet satisfying for the expert

Modeling filters that reproduce the sound of classic instruments

Three master effect sections (each with six effect types) add the finishing touch to your sound

Vacuum tube driver circuit adds rich overtones and powerful distortion

New panel layout designed for intuitive operation

CV/GATE OUT jack lets you control a Korg monotribe or MS-20

Support for librarian software that lets you manage programs

Powerful oscillators that are both understandable to the beginner and satisfying for the expert

KingKORG features a 3-oscillator x 2-timbre design allows you to generate thick and rich sounds, plus a newly developed XMT modeling sound engine. XMT (Xpanded Modeling Technology) is proprietary Korg technology that was created in order to produce a wide variety of sounds while keeping operation simple. In a conventional synthesizer, the sound-creating process requires you to adjust the oscillator settings one by one, making it difficult to see the overall picture. In contrast, KingKORG provides pre-set algorithms that contain combinations of various types and numbers of oscillators, letting you easily and quickly sculpt stage-ready sounds. The wide range of oscillator algorithms includes the choices you''d expect from an analog synthesizer–sawtooth wave, square wave, and noise–in addition to numerous PCM/DWGS algorithms, giving you plenty of choices for creating highly personal sounds.

Modeling filters that reproduce the sound of classic instruments

While designing KingKORG, extreme attention was paid to the filter section, which is crucial to a synthesizer''s character. A diverse variety of filters is a unique advantage of analog modeling, and KingKORG''s filters add unparalleled flexibility. In addition to a variety of essential analog modeling filter types, you get faithful models of filters that reproduce the analog monophonic synths used for lead and bass in the ''70s, the polyphonic synths used in new wave music of the ''80s, and the filters of Korg''s classic MS-20 analog synth. These filters can also be made to self-oscillate by raising the resonance setting– a unique capability of analog synthesizers.

Three master effects, each with six effect types, add the finishing touch to your sound

KingKORG provides three master effect sections, each giving you a choice of six effect types: PRE FX, with types such as distortion and amp simulator; MOD FX, with classic effects like phaser, chorus, and tremolo; and REV/DELAY, with ambience effects such as hall reverb and modulation delay. Each effect processor has a dedicated front panel dial that selects the effect type. To choose the ideal effect type, simply turn the dial to hear the result, and use the FX control knobs located below these dials to adjust the effect as desired.

Vacuum tube driver circuit adds rich overtones and powerful distortion

Built upon years of analog experience that Korg has acquired throughout its history, KingKORG provides a full-analog vacuum tube driver circuit as a mastering effect. You can use it to add warm fullness, a powerful overdrive, or anything in between.

Vocoder function

The built-in vocoder uses audio from the onboard mic input to modify the sound, creating an effect as though the synthesizer were talking. The vocoder features Formant Shift to dramatically modify the tonal character, as well as Formant Hold, which allows you to "freeze" a vowel sound and play it back using the keys. Thanks to the KingKORG''s dual-timbre architecture, you can even combine the vocoder with another timbre, either as a complementing sound or a modulation source.

Virtual patch function

On many classic synthesizers (such as the MS-20), the signal flow could be reconfigured using patch cables to physically connect one element to another. KingKORG reproduces this function with an intuitive Virtual Patch system. With six Virtual Patch assignments per timbre, control signals such as EG, LFO, or joystick movement can be virtually connected to sound parameters such as pitch or cutoff, allowing you to modulate a parameter for even greater sound-shaping possibilities.

Step arpeggiator function

The step arpeggiator automatically generates an arpeggiated phrase (broken chord) according to the chord you hold on the keyboard. You can choose from six arpeggio types, and specify the duration, interval, and on/off status of each step to enjoy a wide variety of performance possibilities.

Newly designed panel layout allows intuitive operation

The newly designed panel is organized into blocks that let you focus on the controls you need while editing. While reflecting the concept of an analog synthesizer''s signal flow, KingKORG''s front panel takes full advantage of today''s technology. For example, the oscillator section has its own dedicated display that shows the name of the currently selected algorithm. You can turn the dial located beside this display to see descriptive names, and push the dial to jump to the beginning of categories such as ANALOG or DWGS. The control knobs are assigned to the most effective and important parameters for each oscillator, letting you enjoy the unique feature of an analog synthesizer --- turning the knobs to transform the sound. There are also dedicated dials for each of the three master effects, making it easy to try out different effects and hear how they modify the sound. Since a self-luminous organic EL display is used, visibility is excellent even on a dimly lit stage.

61 dynamic, full-size keys, plus Korg''s X/Y Joystick

KingKORG features a generous five octaves of velocity-sensitive keys, whose response can even be adjusted (Normal, Shallow, or Deep) to mimic that of classic instruments. Below the dedicated octave shift buttons, you''ll find a backlit X/Y joystick, ready to control your most important live performance tweaks. Play through some of the preset sounds, and you''ll notice that the joystick is already set up for useful and inspiring modulation.

Favorites function for convenience in live performance

The Favorites function lets you recall frequently-used programs at a single touch. You can assign a total of 40 programs to the eight category favorite buttons for easy recall.

200 built-in preset programs

KingKORG provides a diverse selection of 200 stage-ready preset programs organized into eight categories such as Synth, Lead, and Bass. There''s a great selection of the staple sounds you need for live performance, including numerous PCM sounds for piano, electric piano, organ, and clavinet. Thanks to KingKORG''s ability to emulate filters from classic synthesizers, you''ll find familiar and authentic sounds that are perfect for playing your favorite classic and modern songs, along with new and inspiring sounds to broaden your horizons. There''s also a user area for you to store 100 of your own sounds.

CV/GATE OUT jack lets you control the monotribe or MS-20

The CV/GATE OUT jack lets you use an analog signal to control a KORG monotribe or MS-20. A dedicated cable for the monotribe is included, allowing you to use the keyboard of KingKORG to play the monotribe.

Support for librarian software that lets you manage programs

You can manage programs on your computer simply by connecting KingKORG to your computer via a USB cable and using the librarian software. The librarian software can be downloaded at no charge from the Korg website.

NAMM 2013: Numark iDJ Live II unveiled

NAMM 2013 PRESS RELEASE: Cumberland, R.I. It''s a smorgasbord of filth.

For more information, visit the official Wampler website.

Wampler press release

Sometime in mid 2011 we received an email from Tom Quayle showing an interest in our pedals. So, after some discussion Tom bought a Euphoria and a Paisley Drive. From the moment he plugged them in, his tone had been taken a huge step forward.

When playing high energy Fusion, you need dirt that follows every move you make. It needs to allow the guitar to work and respond perfectly, and with Wampler Pedals, Tom found this.

When we got to meet Tom in person that following January in NAMM, a discussion took place where Tom told us what he loved about that combination and what wasn''t quite working. We loved his thoughts. At the show, a concept was born that took just over 12 months to be realized. Once you get to know Tom, you notice two things. Firstly, his playing is out of this world. His knowledge of this fretboard and immaculate phrasing makes him one of the stand out Fusion guitarists playing today. Secondly, he''s just a good guy. Some may say he''s a Gentleman; basically - he''s the type of player, the type of person, we like and the type of person we are proud to work closely with.

So, what was that idea? It was quite simple (well, it appeared that way). Take those two circuits, highlight the most usable tones, modify them extensively to ensure that they stack perfectly and then put them in the the same box. Also, make the stacking switchable... C1 into C2, or C2 into C1. While you are there, seperate them with dedicated inputs/outputs should you use a looper switching system. Basically, make it as versatile and useable as possible.

Upon receiving the first proto type, Tom said "The major improvement is just how amp-like the response is. In that department I have never played a pedal that is as good as this. It sounds exactly like a gainy tube amp and feels like one too. It''s very exciting and fun to play through - you totally forget that you''re playing a pedal."

The Tom Quayle signature Dual Fusion. The new model, which makes its official debut at the NAMM Show, boasts Taylor’s boldest, richest voice, one that manages to blend low-end power with surprising balance and responsiveness for a big guitar. Players are sure to be impressed by the Grand Orchestra’s versatility: Aggressive strummers will love the robust output, while fingerstyle players will enjoy the dynamic range and sensitive response.

Last year, the company was inspired by a desire to revoice the Taylor Jumbo, but Taylor’s design group instead opted to start from scratch and rethink the possibilities of a modern big-bodied guitar. Taylor master luthier Andy Powers began the design process by experimenting with body dimensions. He wanted to capture some of a Dreadnought’s robust tonal personality to produce big, round, richly solid notes. Slightly longer than a traditional Dreadnought, the Grand Orchestra features a tighter waist and a wider bottom bout to heighten the tonal properties. The body depth was also expanded to increase the air volume. “Bob Taylor has compared it to the lungs that support someone’s voice,” Powers explains. “By creating a bigger ‘lung,’ you have the bigger, fuller, more powerful capacity to support lower frequencies.” To maintain balance across the entire tonal spectrum, Powers designed a new bracing scheme. A hybrid of scalloped and parabolic bracing, the design causes the top and back to pump like a speaker cone, making the guitar loud and uniformly responsive from lows to highs. What emerged from the new shape was a strong, complex voice with the kind of tonal balance that fits perfectly into Taylor’s family of shapes and sounds.

To celebrate the new shape, Taylor is initially releasing the GO in three ultra-limited batches of First Edition models: the 518e, 618e and 918e. Each will feature premium grades of wood, along with other upgrades. The 518e features a back and sides of solid mahogany, a solid Sitka spruce top and bracing, and is accented by the “Deco Diamonds” inlay; the 618e boasts a back and sides of solid, AA-grade Big Leaf maple, a solid Sitka spruce top, Adirondack bracing, and the “Twisted Oval” inlay scheme; and the 918e incorporates solid AA-grade Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, Adirondack bracing, and the popular “Cindy” inlay design. All First Edition GO models will be released without a cutaway to accentuate the body shape.

The Grand Orchestra is the fifth body shape in Taylor’s acoustic guitar line, joining other proprietary Taylor shapes including the Grand Concert, Grand Auditorium and Grand Symphony, along with the Dreadnought. Grand Orchestra models will be designated within the Taylor series ending with the numeral “8” (e.g., 618e). GO models will be available at Authorized Taylor Dealers in the United States.

While at the NAMM show, fans can experience the new models by visiting the Taylor Guitars Showcase (Room 213 ABC).

NAMM 2013: Fender launches Ritchie Blackmore Tribute Strat

NAMM 2013: Fender is giving guitarists the world over the chance to recreate one of the most famous riffs of all time on a guitar that''s a gnat''s wing away from the one Ritchie Blackmore wrote it on.

The Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute 1969 Stratocaster Light Relic might not have the snappiest of names, but we''ll forgive it, primarily because the all-black Strat is the answer to any Deep Purple loving guitarist''s dreams. This guitar was built to play Smoke On The Water the right way.

For more information, visit the official Fender website.

Fender press release

Though unassuming at first glance, Ritchie Blackmore''s infamous Black Fender Stratocaster guitar was the vehicle for one of the most famous riffs in the history of rock ''n'' roll – "Smoke on the Water," the proverbial "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" of rock guitar.

Due to that fact, the Fender Custom Shop is extremely proud to bring the instrument to life by introducing a very special limited edition instrument, the Fender Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute 1969 Stratocaster Light Relic® guitar. Limited to 2013 production, the guitar is a meticulously crafted replica of the all-black Fender Stratocaster Blackmore played with Deep Purple in the early ''70s, including their breakthrough album Machine Head and the band''s greatest hit.

While Machine Head was released in 1972, "Smoke on the Water" wasn''t released as a single until May 1973. The single reached number 4 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the U.S. and was a hit propelling the album into the top 10 all over the world. Centering around a four-note arrangement, the guitar riff has become one of the most popular primary riffs guitarists attempt while learning the instrument. Though usually played incorrectly, the riff is played using "all fourths" rather than the typical power chord arrangement beginners find easy to learn. The song has been on countless lists over the last 40 years since its release, including Rolling Stone''s "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time," VH1''s "40 Greatest Metal Songs" and Q magazine''s "100 Greatest Guitar Tracks."

Deep Purple broke out of Hertford England in the late ''60s and, alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, are considered pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. The band was once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe''s loudest band" and have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Deep Purple have recently been nominated for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2013.

The Fender Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute 1969 Stratocaster Light Relic guitar features a lightly worn Black urethane finished two-piece alder body; a ''69 "U"-shape maple neck with a 7.25" radius, medium jumbo frets, Micarta nut and Schaller tuners; custom ''69 Strat pickups hand-wound by legendary pickup winder Abigail Ybarra, a vintage synchronized tremolo complete with Ritchie''s distinctive custom ¼" arm, and three-way switching. In addition, each Blackmore guitar includes an exclusive "Tribute" decal on the back of the headstock, four-bolt neck plate with "F" and serial number, certificate and Black Tolex case with orange lining and a "Fender Amp" logo.

Doors open at 7pm and tickets are £15. Don't miss it!

Taking up keyboards at age five, Keneally’s life changed when he moved from New York to California in 1970 and heard Frank Zappa for the first time at age ten. Woodshedding for the next 15 years as a self-taught guitarist, he formed a band called Drop Control in his hometown of San Diego in 1985 and became one of the city's musical heroes. Keneally auditioned for Zappa's band in 1987 as a "stunt guitar" replacement for Steve Vai, and was hired as a guitarist, keyboardist, and vocalist. The multi-instrumentalist would appear on some classic Zappa albums like Broadway the Hard Way and The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life, but little did he know that his lineup would be Zappa's final touring band. Between 1988 and 1991, Keneally performed with Drop Control and Zappa's son Dweezil's band Z.

More recently Mike has become a hero amongst Vai and Satriani fans alike. Having toured and recorded extensively with both artists. Keneally is the leading progressive rock genius of the post-Zappa era.

Whether you are a guitarist, pianist or drummer and you make a living from your music or you just play for enjoyment, you’ll know that protecting your gear against theft, loss or accidental damage is a wise decision. Although most people agree that insurance is a good thing, many don’t protect their musical instruments, leaving them at risk when the unexpected inevitably occurs. And if you gig regularly, your gear is at even greater risk in pubs, clubs and venues, especially from potential theft or damage.

Roland products are built for the road, so you can expect them to be reliable (which is why we give you a free three-year warranty as well). But what about the other things that life can throw your way?

Roland has partnered with Allianz Musical Insurance, one of the UK’s leading insurers, to bring you an exclusive offer: 12 months protection against theft, loss or accidental damage, completely free of charge. Just take a few minutes to register your free three-year warranty and we’ll tell you how to activate your 12 months free insurance cover. This offer applies to Roland products with an RRP of £500 or more.
