Features: Phase Shifter, from the Akai Professional Analog Custom Shop, is one of the more esoteric pedals in the product line. Phase includes A and B frequency toggle-switches and a Rate knob in heavy-duty polished stainless-steel housing. True-bypass switching and three control mechanisms provide precision control. KingKORG features a 3-oscillator x 2-timbre design allows you to generate thick and rich sounds, plus a newly developed XMT modeling sound engine. Three master effects, each with six effect types, add the finishing touch to your sound

KingKORG provides three master effect sections, each giving you a choice of six effect types: PRE FX, with types such as distortion and amp simulator; MOD FX, with classic effects like phaser, chorus, and tremolo; and REV/DELAY, with ambience effects such as hall reverb and modulation delay. Each effect processor has a dedicated front panel dial that selects the effect type. To choose the ideal effect type, simply turn the dial to hear the result, and use the FX control knobs located below these dials to adjust the effect as desired.

Vacuum tube driver circuit adds rich overtones and powerful distortion

Built upon years of analog experience that Korg has acquired throughout its history, KingKORG provides a full-analog vacuum tube driver circuit as a mastering effect. You can use it to add warm fullness, a powerful overdrive, or anything in between.

Vocoder function

The built-in vocoder uses audio from the onboard mic input to modify the sound, creating an effect as though the synthesizer were talking. The vocoder features Formant Shift to dramatically modify the tonal character, as well as Formant Hold, which allows you to "freeze" a vowel sound and play it back using the keys. Thanks to the KingKORG''s dual-timbre architecture, you can even combine the vocoder with another timbre, either as a complementing sound or a modulation source.

Virtual patch function

On many classic synthesizers (such as the MS-20), the signal flow could be reconfigured using patch cables to physically connect one element to another. KingKORG reproduces this function with an intuitive Virtual Patch system. With six Virtual Patch assignments per timbre, control signals such as EG, LFO, or joystick movement can be virtually connected to sound parameters such as pitch or cutoff, allowing you to modulate a parameter for even greater sound-shaping possibilities.

Step arpeggiator function

The step arpeggiator automatically generates an arpeggiated phrase (broken chord) according to the chord you hold on the keyboard. You can choose from six arpeggio types, and specify the duration, interval, and on/off status of each step to enjoy a wide variety of performance possibilities.

Newly designed panel layout allows intuitive operation

The newly designed panel is organized into blocks that let you focus on the controls you need while editing. While reflecting the concept of an analog synthesizer''s signal flow, KingKORG''s front panel takes full advantage of today''s technology. For example, the oscillator section has its own dedicated display that shows the name of the currently selected algorithm. You can turn the dial located beside this display to see descriptive names, and push the dial to jump to the beginning of categories such as ANALOG or DWGS. Sometime in mid 2011 we received an email from Tom Quayle showing an interest in our pedals. So, after some discussion Tom bought a Euphoria and a Paisley Drive. From the moment he plugged them in, his tone had been taken a huge step forward.

When playing high energy Fusion, you need dirt that follows every move you make. It needs to allow the guitar to work and respond perfectly, and with Wampler Pedals, Tom found this.

When we got to meet Tom in person that following January in NAMM, a discussion took place where Tom told us what he loved about that combination and what wasn''t quite working. We loved his thoughts. At the show, a concept was born that took just over 12 months to be realized. Once you get to know Tom, you notice two things. Firstly, his playing is out of this world. His knowledge of this fretboard and immaculate phrasing makes him one of the stand out Fusion guitarists playing today. Secondly, he''s just a good guy. Some may say he''s a Gentleman; basically - he''s the type of player, the type of person, we like and the type of person we are proud to work closely with.

So, what was that idea? It was quite simple (well, it appeared that way). Take those two circuits, highlight the most usable tones, modify them extensively to ensure that they stack perfectly and then put them in the the same box. Also, make the stacking switchable... C1 into C2, or C2 into C1. While you are there, seperate them with dedicated inputs/outputs should you use a looper switching system. Basically, make it as versatile and useable as possible.

Upon receiving the first proto type, Tom said "The major improvement is just how amp-like the response is. In that department I have never played a pedal that is as good as this. It sounds exactly like a gainy tube amp and feels like one too. It''s very exciting and fun to play through - you totally forget that you''re playing a pedal."

A new H.O.G.2 Foot Controller is also available. It allows you to easily save and recall up to 100 presets in the H.O.G.2 main unit. Presets 0 through 11 are factory presets specially designed to give the user a wide array of sounds available from the H.O.G.2.

Taylor Guitars is unveiling the next body shape in the evolution of the company’s guitars: the Grand Orchestra. The new model, which makes its official debut at the NAMM Show, boasts Taylor’s boldest, richest voice, one that manages to blend low-end power with surprising balance and responsiveness for a big guitar. Players are sure to be impressed by the Grand Orchestra’s versatility: Aggressive strummers will love the robust output, while fingerstyle players will enjoy the dynamic range and sensitive response.

Last year, the company was inspired by a desire to revoice the Taylor Jumbo, but Taylor’s design group instead opted to start from scratch and rethink the possibilities of a modern big-bodied guitar. Taylor master luthier Andy Powers began the design process by experimenting with body dimensions. He wanted to capture some of a Dreadnought’s robust tonal personality to produce big, round, richly solid notes. Slightly longer than a traditional Dreadnought, the Grand Orchestra features a tighter waist and a wider bottom bout to heighten the tonal properties. The body depth was also expanded to increase the air volume. “Bob Taylor has compared it to the lungs that support someone’s voice,” Powers explains. “By creating a bigger ‘lung,’ you have the bigger, fuller, more powerful capacity to support lower frequencies.” To maintain balance across the entire tonal spectrum, Powers designed a new bracing scheme. A hybrid of scalloped and parabolic bracing, the design causes the top and back to pump like a speaker cone, making the guitar loud and uniformly responsive from lows to highs. What emerged from the new shape was a strong, complex voice with the kind of tonal balance that fits perfectly into Taylor’s family of shapes and sounds.

To celebrate the new shape, Taylor is initially releasing the GO in three ultra-limited batches of First Edition models: the 518e, 618e and 918e. Each will feature premium grades of wood, along with other upgrades. The 518e features a back and sides of solid mahogany, a solid Sitka spruce top and bracing, and is accented by the “Deco Diamonds” inlay; the 618e boasts a back and sides of solid, AA-grade Big Leaf maple, a solid Sitka spruce top, Adirondack bracing, and the “Twisted Oval” inlay scheme; and the 918e incorporates solid AA-grade Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid Sitka spruce top, Adirondack bracing, and the popular “Cindy” inlay design. All First Edition GO models will be released without a cutaway to accentuate the body shape.

The Grand Orchestra is the fifth body shape in Taylor’s acoustic guitar line, joining other proprietary Taylor shapes including the Grand Concert, Grand Auditorium and Grand Symphony, along with the Dreadnought. Grand Orchestra models will be designated within the Taylor series ending with the numeral “8” (e.g., 618e). GO models will be available at Authorized Taylor Dealers in the United States.

While at the NAMM show, fans can experience the new models by visiting the Taylor Guitars Showcase (Room 213 ABC).

The Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute 1969 Stratocaster Light Relic might not have the snappiest of names, but we''ll forgive it, primarily because the all-black Strat is the answer to any Deep Purple loving guitarist''s dreams. This guitar was built to play Smoke On The Water the right way.

Though unassuming at first glance, Ritchie Blackmore''s infamous Black Fender Stratocaster guitar was the vehicle for one of the most famous riffs in the history of rock ''n'' roll – "Smoke on the Water," the proverbial "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" of rock guitar.

Due to that fact, the Fender Custom Shop is extremely proud to bring the instrument to life by introducing a very special limited edition instrument, the Fender Custom Shop Ritchie Blackmore Tribute 1969 Stratocaster Light Relic® guitar. Limited to 2013 production, the guitar is a meticulously crafted replica of the all-black Fender Stratocaster Blackmore played with Deep Purple in the early ''70s, including their breakthrough album Machine Head and the band''s greatest hit.

While Machine Head was released in 1972, "Smoke on the Water" wasn''t released as a single until May 1973. The single reached number 4 on the Billboard pop singles chart in the U.S. and was a hit propelling the album into the top 10 all over the world. Centering around a four-note arrangement, the guitar riff has become one of the most popular primary riffs guitarists attempt while learning the instrument. Though usually played incorrectly, the riff is played using "all fourths" rather than the typical power chord arrangement beginners find easy to learn. The song has been on countless lists over the last 40 years since its release, including Rolling Stone''s "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time," VH1''s "40 Greatest Metal Songs" and Q magazine''s "100 Greatest Guitar Tracks."

Deep Purple broke out of Hertford England in the late ''60s and, alongside Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, are considered pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock. The band was once listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as "the globe''s loudest band" and have sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Deep Purple have recently been nominated for a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2013.

Taking up keyboards at age five, Keneally’s life changed when he moved from New York to California in 1970 and heard Frank Zappa for the first time at age ten. Woodshedding for the next 15 years as a self-taught guitarist, he formed a band called Drop Control in his hometown of San Diego in 1985 and became one of the city's musical heroes.
