About Bare Knuckle Pickups

Bare Knuckle Pickups are a British company founded and still owned by Tim Mills. Tim has over 25 years worth of experience as a professional guitarist, and started the company in an effort to create pickups that could cover a wide range of musical styles.

Today, Bare Knuckle Pickups have grown to be a world famous brand known for extremely high quality. With a wide range of pickup models and styles, Bare Knuckle Pickups are famously identifiable by their tone, feel, and unique looks.

All Bare Knuckle pickups are hand wound using a method called "Scatter Winding". This method of winding requires a high degree of skill from the pickup builder, and the result creates a coil that isn't as even turn on turn in its wire pattern unlike the uniform windings you find from a machine. Sonically this creates a clearer high end and increases the overall frequency response giving you a loud, open, and incredibly detailed tone.

Why Should I Choose Bare Knuckle Pickups?

  • Scatter Wound coils which increases high end clarity and frequency response
  • Huge range of models for a variety of tones
  • High quality and historically accurate components
