Based on a classic 50s spec with some modern concessions, this Journeyman Relic brings lots of great features together for a fantastic playing experience.
The Journeyman Relic level of distress is fairly light: it’s meant to resemble a guitar that has been played a lot but looked after so there are no huge chunks of paint and wood missing! There are light dings, a little discolouration and some wear on the fingerboard around the first few frets. The metal parts have had some oxidisation but it all feels natural and unforced. On a vintage looking Faded Daphne Blue Jazzmaster, the effect is electric.
An Ash body joins a rift-sawn Maple neck carved into a current-Fender-favourite Soft V profile. The fingerboard is more modern though: a forgiving 9.5” radius makes playing easier and more comfortable whilst the 6105-sized frets lie somewhere between vintage and modern in both height and width.
We are suckers for an Anodised pickguard so getting a distressed one on here has made our day! We think it really increases the vibe and attitude of the guitar.
Hand wound pickups deliver a clear yet warm sound with lots of range and personality on tap.
This is a very charismatic guitar which will appeal to players who love the classic Fender twang but prefer it to have a little more swagger.

Melding original Jazzmaster® tone with modern feel, the 50’s Journeyman Relic® is based on a two-piece select ash body and tinted maple riftsawn neck with a “ ’57 Soft V”-shaped neck profile---along with modern player features like the stable, intonatable RSD Jazzmaster® bridge and 9.5”-radius fingerboard.
Other features include 21 6105 frets, vintage-style Jazzmaster® wiring, hand-wound Jazzmaster® pickups, gold anodized pickguard, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and wing string tree with metal spacer. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and Certificate of Authenticity.
