HSH here refers to the pickup configuration: Humbucker, Single coil, Humbucker. For Strat fans who also like wider, thicker sounds, this is an extremely enticing proposition.
So, the biggest question really is…does this Stratocaster sound like a Stratocaster? And the answer is yes and no. This guitar is really for Strat fans who may already have a ‘regular’ strat and want to spread out and expend their sound. This Player HSH Strat is all about versatility so yes, you do get some classic middle-position strat tones, including those all0important ‘quack’ sounds! However, the humbuckers are there for a reason and make their presence known at either end of the 5 way blade selector.
This guitar will suit players who like to skip around between styles and genres without having to commit to any one. There are a wide selection of quality tones available and the feel is just right.
