What we say:
At A Glance:
The Atkin White Rice guitar gets its unusual name from Tony Rice and Clarence White. These men both owned the same distinctive looking dreadnought guitar, and Atkin's White Rice model is a tribute to that instrument! Whatever the inspiration, this is an exceptional guitar, with a voice that is one of the finest Dreadnought tone we've ever experienced.
Features We Love:
This detail, found on the 'original' guitar, not only looks interesting, it greatly increases the volume of the instrument. Loud might be an understatement! This is one confident sounding guitar, with a sound that is rich and resonant beyond words.
When Atkin's artisans Relic their guitars, they don't overdo it! These relic finishes are sympathetically handled and far more realistic and authentic than other brands. A final coat of Aged nitrocellulose lacquer seals things perfectly.
Herringbone purfling, Pre-War inner scalloped bracing and a hand-moulded resin pickguard are just a few of the wonderful details that highlight Atkin's attention and commitment to detail.
- Unbelievable sound
- Unique look
- Excellent versatility.
SpecificationWhile Atkin's regular Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood Dreadnought packs plenty of power, sustain and projection, this guitar is something else. Thanks in part to the oversized soundhole, which lets more air in and out of the guitar, The White Rice combines incredible power – in Alister’s words, “it sounds like a cannon!” – with an openness and resonance that is unique. Accurate in every detail, from the 43mm nut to the detailed custom relic finish, this is not just the ultimate White/Rice tribute but, perhaps, the ultimate Dreadnought.
