About the Epiphone Dot

The Epiphone Dot 335 is one of Epiphone's most perennially popular guitars. Based on Gibson's ES-335, the Dot - so named because of the simple dot inlay design on the fingerboard - is a semi acoustic guitar with f-holes and classic styling. It is available in a variety of colours including the classic Cherry and Vintage Sunburst finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions about Epiphone Dot 335 Guitars

No, the Epiphone Dot has a solid centre block of Maple running down the inside of the guitar's body. This helps reject feedback and provides a thicker, sustaining tone. This is why it is referred to as a 'semi' or a 'semi acoustic'.
The Epiphone Dot has upgraded humbuckers pickups. These are an Alnico Classic in the neck position and an Alnico Classic Plus in the bridge. These pickups use Alnico 5 magnets to produce a classic, medium output sound with a good amount of treble and bass.
Yes they do, although it depends of course on things like distortion and volume. Compared with a solid body guitar that is otherwise similar, the Dot has more top end and slightly less in the midrange. This allows the guitar to be very versatile in terms of its variety of sound: clean, crunch and distorted sounds are all high quality.
