About Alvarez Yairi

The Alvarez Yairi line is a truly special range of acoustic guitars that walks the line between traditional and modern building techniques. The Alvarez Yairi line was designed by master luthier Kazuo Yairi, who developed many features including the famous direct -coupled bridge which raises string tension over the saddle and thus increases vibration and resonance throughout the guitar. Along with this master design, Alvarez Yairi guitars are built with a traditional and simple philosophy; that good guitars are built with good woods by good craftspeople.

The Yairi factory is nestled in the foothills of Nagoya Japan, its floors are made of mahogany, and the furniture is made of rosewood that has been hand carved by many of the luthiers themselves. This is the perfect place for tonewood to be naturally seasoned and the luthiers take all this heritage into account when they work on each guitar. Every neck is spoke-shaved by hand, the braces are carved and turned by hand and the attention to detail is second to none. An Alvarez Yairi guitar is designed and built to be a true performance guitar.
