What we say:
LTD’s 1000 series have always been great for providing musicians with attractive, professional level guitars at relatively affordable prices. This model, the H-1001QM, is based on the company’s Horizon design and is an opulent delight! Let’s take a look…
The H model is intended by LTD to appear to musicians of all styles but we’d say there is a definite ‘Rock’ slant to things here! The H-1001QM is essentially a set neck Mahogany Superstrat with a contoured, Quilted Maple top. A 12” radius fingerboard and Extra Jumbo frets single this out as one for Rock, Shred and technical players. Overall, this guitar makes quite an impression!
Visually, we are met with a superbly figured Maple top, finished in a deep, transparent shade of Green. The purfling (on both the body’s top and the headstock) and fingerboard inlays are all made from Abalone. This, along with the Ebony fingerboard, adds up to a bold visual statement!
The hardware is impressive, too. A top quality Hipshot bridge provides the stability whilst a pair of premium Seymour Duncan pickups - a Pegasus and Sentient combo - provide a wide tonal platform from which to pluck a whole spectrum of sounds.
Really, any player finding themselves at all unhappy with this guitar can count themselves as extremely hard to please! There is a wealth of tone, playability and quality on display here. Visually, it packs a punch and sonically, this guitar knocks it out the park.
Condition ReportHas some impact damage on the edge of the lower bout, just above the strap button. The lacquer has a crack in it roughly 2cm long.
