For players who want the style and sound of Fender’s golden era, we created the Vintera® ‘50s Stratocaster®. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade—including period-accurate neck profile and hardware, along with re-voiced pickups—this guitar has all of the chime and articulation that made the Stratocaster a legend.

For authentic, vintage-style tone we recreated the trio of single-coil Stratocaster pickups to sound more like the originals. Crystalline and bell-like, they have the crisp, articulate tone that put Fender on the musical map. The updated “Soft V”-shaped neck has a 7.25”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets for classic playing feel. A vintage-style, six-point synchronized tremolo and vintage-style tuning machines provide original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include vintage-style strap buttons, 5-way pickup switching and the traditional Strat® control layout. Includes deluxe gig bag.

Great sound; I rate the pickups better than CS69’s I have in another guitar! I did intend to have this guitar tuned normal and my other tuned in Open G but that plan went out the window when I heard what this can do. So I don’t mind taking the time to mess about with different tunings and the floating bridge. The neck is a lovely profile and the guitar was set up pretty well out the box with minimal work for me to do myself. The guitar is subject to Fender’s sloppy quality control; on close inspection the finish has a few minor blemishes, the wood work in the cavity the bridge springs are in could do with some tidying up and the trem arm shipped has a white tip which doesn’t match the aged white pickups and knobs. None of this actually detracts from performance though and the guitar has a super smooth action and comes perfectly back into tune even after dive bombing the trem and slackening the strings right off. The QC issues are cosmetic and add character I can live with. I’ve had 7 Strats over the years and playability wise this tops them all.

What a guitar! Amazing crystalline tone. Great neck too, if you like the vintage "short" frets.
