What we say:

At A Glance:

The PRS SE Mira Vintage Cherry brings a successful PRS innovation to the SE range. The first Mira debuted in 2007 and has been a popular choice of guitar for many players. Although the SE Mira has found a home in numerous music styles, the pokey nature of the 85/15 S humbuckers makes it an ideal candidate for rock-driven performances.

The all-mahogany construction works together with the 85/15's to obtain a mid-driven output perfect for cutting through a full band mix. The Mira's double cutaway gives way to a unique body shape that has been finished in Vintage Cherry. A Wide Thin neck has you covered for a fast playing experience. The rosewood fretboard houses 22 frets and the classic bird inlays that stay true to Paul Reed Smith's visual form. PRS has equipped this instrument with an adjustable wrap-around bridge, instantly setting it apart from much of the SE line.

PRS strive to retain their name for high-quality instruments. The SE Mira brings quality and affordability together in a compilation of tasty spec and modern engineering.

Features We Love:

85/15 "S" Pcikups

The first two numbers of the pickups name indicate the year that the original pickup came out. The last two digits denote what year that pickup design was reissued with modern enhancements. The pickups mounted in this guitar are based on the pickups loaded in the first PRS guitars. The earlier pickups' tolerance variations have been shrunk to unnoticeable differences in sonic output by utilising new computer programmable machinery. PRS aim to keep improving their innovations as new technology develops.

Wide Thin Neck

The neck is where most of the playability of the guitar is decided. PRS have thought meticulously about the shape and feel of the necks they offer. This guitar sports a Wide Thin neck. This neck gives you a thin profile with a wide fretboard, a combination championed by fast players. The mahogany neck is given a gloss finish completed with the Vintage Cherry stain.

Adjustable Wraparound Bridge

A wrap-around bridge not only holds a visually pleasing sight to some, but it also has tangible benefits. It will allow you to bend a little further than a Tune-o-Matic bridge system by doing away with the excess string length behind the bridge. It also means no excess vibrations are coming from behind the bridge.

Though they might be small, changes like this do affect the overall sound of the guitar. One significant improvement the PRS designed wrap-around system is it gives you the ability to adjust the intonation. This is a great advantage over more traditional wrap around setups.

Highlights:

  • Coil splittable 85/15 "S" Humbuckers for versatile switching
  • Wide Thin, fast playing neck
