John Suhr brings his 35+ years of experience from his NYC days a half of Pensa-Suhr (making guitars for Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton amongst others), through his time with Bob Bradshaw and then Fender’s Custom Shop as a Master Builder to his own Suhr guitars workshop in Lake Elsinore, California.
John and his team craft practical masterpieces for musicians of all walks to play and cherish. An instrument from Suhr is an assurance that what you play on has been built with love, dedication and a huge degree of skill.
Suhr’s large-bodied offset shape guitar is big on vibes and has a completely open personality: there are no preconceived ideas about how this is supposed to sound! As a result it is a thrilling blank canvas that invites you to explore and define your own tone with a super high quality guitar.
Finished with Suhr’s own satin acrylic urethane, the Alder body provides plenty of sustaining mids and lows along with a good deal of clarity. The maple neck and Indian Rosewood fingerboard has a vintage C profile and a 10-14” compound radius board for an uncompromising feel for both chording and high up lead playing positions.
This JM has a Tonepros bridge with a string through body construction and is finished in Sonic Blue. The pickups are a pair of Suhr's own SSV humbuckers. These units give a great PAF-tone for rock, blues and alternative styles.
