Fender’s Player Series is a fresh update of their most beloved models for today’s contemporary guitarist. The Player Series replaces the Mexican Standard Series and brings with it a host of exciting new features. Each Player Series guitar features 22 frets, new colours, a newly designed neck carve and upgraded pickups. Whatever style you play, you’ll be sure to find a favourite amongst the raft of new models available.

Stratocasters with bridge humbuckers and locking tremolos have been a popular proposition since the early 1980s. For guitarists who enjoy the classic curves of a Strat but need more in terms of performance, an ‘HSS Floyd Strat’ is a highly appropriate choice. Fender offer exactly this as part of their Player Series.

So, how does this differ from the Player Stratocaster? The most obvious addition is the Floyd Rose locking tremolo system. It is a hefty piece of machinery with extra routing into the body behind it to allow the chassis to move freely. A locking nut is of course required, too and so has duly been fitted.

A bridge position humbucker is here too, a necessary inclusion for the hard rockers who are surely the target audience for this guitar. All pickups are alnico units designed specially for the Player Series.

Another break from tradition is the 12” radius fingerboard. This makes sense for both shred techniques and for lining up with the Floyd bridge. This Strat is a ‘lead’ instrument even more than usual and we applaud Fender for taking the extra degree of care to bring a flat fingerboard to this guitar.

This Strat is a lot of fun to play! You get a wealth fo sounds and some extreme sonic possibilities with the locking trem. We love this!
