What we say:

At a Glance

As well as his own band Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends, Reeves has also played with David Bowie and has been a member of The Cure since 2012. He was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2019 as a member of The Cure so you know that Reeves really knows his stuff when it comes to music and it certainly shows with this guitar. The stripped back and simplistic design that Reeves favours has been an ongoing theme throughout his life with him say that even going back to his 1966 Schwinn Stingray bicycle and 1971 Honda dirtbike which were both a 'no frills, simple and fast blue thing to zip around on'. With a Signature Railhammer pickup and a Wilkinson Tremolo this guitar is ready to rock and can take everything you throw at it. While Reeves is best known for his rock playing, this guitar will easily let you go into the world of metal too so although it may look simple it can still do a lot!

Features We Love:

Single Railhammer Signature Humbucker Pickup

Reeves loves the simplicity of the single pickup design. It is stripped down of all the frills and what is left is what he needs to get the job done well without any distractions. He even believes this to be an ongoing story throughout his life and he has stuck true to this ethos with this wonderfully simple rock machine. The Humbucker of choice is his Signature Railhammer model and when you hear it you will realise why only one is needed. It contains an Alnico 5 magnet and a prominent midrange for a sound that easily cuts through any mix to be heard with ease. Perfect for the heavy rock players and it will even let you venture into shred territory with ease.

Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo

This is easily one of the best tremolo systems out there. The way the saddles lock to the baseplate give you reassurance that stability is on your side. The arm itself has adjustable swing tension so no matter your style of playing, this tremolo arm can be set up just the way you like it to allow for warbling with ease. A real time saver is the push-in motion of the arm. Take it out of your guitar case and you are ready for action.

Korina Body

Korina is often used in boutique level instruments so having it as the choice of wood on Reverend guitars is massive bonus. It is highly resonant allowing for all the harmonic goodness of your tone to shine through. Plus a medium-light weight wood is your friend when you have a guitar on your shoulder for hours at a time!

Pros:

  • A perfect guitar for those who like the no-nonsense approach to playing
  • A must for any fan of Reeves Gabrels or The Cure
  • Solid construction for the working rock/metal musician
