In the late 1960s the situation for US guitar manufacturers became difficult: guitars that were made in Japan, looking very similar to US guitars, were flooding the market but at a much lower price. These guitars increasingly endangered the US manufacturers dominance on the market, and a few American companies reacted to that development in an appropriate manner: They did not take any legal steps but instead launched a counter offensive. That’s when “Sigma Guitars” was born.

Could not be more pleased with this guitar - truly exceptional for the money. It is clearly based on the J45, I bought this as a second guitar to my Gibson for gigging etc. and honestly it is about 85% as good (in terms of feel to play, quality control, and tone) for about 25% of the price. But it also has a bit of its own tone/personality (rather than just purely being a J45 copy), which I almost like more for certain songs/styles. Personally, I preferred the Sigma SG45 to the Epiphone J45 as well - the Sigma seems better quality and has a more authentic tone to me. Highly, highly recommended!
