Reimagining a fan favorite in the D'Angelico lineup, the Mini DC found in the Excel Series Tour Collection is a minimalistic powerhouse designed with the traveling player in mind. The Excel Mini DC Tour is a fourteen-inch-wide double cutaway semi-hollow featuring the all-new Supro Bolt Buckers—a custom set of pickups that provide powerful vintage-inspired tones and a seemingly endless sweet spot. The neck pickup acts as a wooly hearth while the bridge pickup provides snap that steers clear of harshness. The Mini DC Tour's undersized body provides a remarkably comfortable playing experience while a refined Throwback Scroll-Style headstock equipped with custom Vintage Deluxe tuners from Grover strike excellent head to body balance. With plenty of sustain and a singing midrange, the Mini DC Tour was born for the stage.

Possibly the nicest playing, and sounding guitar I own. It feels like playing a guitar you’ve had for years. The pickups, neck and build quality are outstanding. I’ve struggled to put this guitar down, it’s really that good. It’s become one of the few guitars I would never sell, I sold a Gretsch Electromatic to buy this, no regrets at all.

Out of the box the guitar was a disaster. The bridge was on backwards, and the guitar was in desperate need of a setup. There was also black over spray on the binding that I had to scrape off. Despite the horrible start the guitar is actually amazing. The pickups are really nice and well balanced. The guitar is extremely light and easy to play (with a setup). Love it. Definitely a keeper.
