What we say:

At A Glance

Epiphone have produced a real gem with the G-400 Pro. It takes its cues from the original SG and updates it with some features that make it perfect for the modern guitarist. Whether you first saw it in the hands of Angus Young or Tony Iommi, the classic body shape is one we all know and love . To be able to get this style of guitar with a high level of construction at this price point is something special. Set-neck construction, Classic Pro pickups, coil splitting, top quality hardware... all of the boxes are firmly ticked here.

Features We Love:

Alnico Classic Pro Humbuckers

Designed around a classic tone we all know and love, these pickups deliver the goods. The Alnico V magnets give a slightly higher output so the modern player has no problem with cutting through. The mids and highs come through particularly well making them perfect for (but not limited to) rock.

Coil Splitting

Let's face it, most people who look at this model will be after it because it has a pair of humbuckers. With that being said, most people also have a wide variety of taste and appreciation. The coil splitting opens up a whole new tonal world so if you fancy playing something a little different or want to broaden your sound arsenal later on then the option is there without any hassle achieving it.

Wilkinson Machine Heads

These Vintage Classics from Wilkinson offer an 18:1 ratio for superb tuning accuracy. Partnered together with the LockTone bridge and Stopbar tailpiece, the result is a reliable guitar that will hold tuning stability incredible well while you get to work on producing all the big riffs.

Pros:

  • A classic model at an affordable price
  • Epiphone build quality
  • Perfect for those after a reliable electric without breaking the bank

I.G. - 11/7/2014

Beautiful guitar. love it. but if i didn't i wouldn't have bought it.....

D.H. - 19/11/2012

The Epiphone g-400 pro is very good but front pickup needed to be slightly lowered to remove booming/muddy tone. Other than that, the setup and action was spot on.
