What we say:

Way Huge are an eccentric brand of boutique pedals designed by madcap savant Jeorge Tripps. His unique designs always sound excellent and go just that little bit further than most other pedals whilst still always offering an inspiring and usable sound. Tripps has designed some classic pedals for other companies like MXR and Line 6 but his most revered creations are from his own stable, Way Huge.

The Supa-Puss is an impressive Analog Delay pedal with some features we haven’t seen before, especially on analog technology!

First off, the maximum time on this is 3 seconds! That is with the Tap Tempo mode so the highest you can personally dial in with the knobs is 900ms, still TONS for an analog delay!

Secondly, you have your (by now) standard Subdivisions for the tempo (sixteenth notes, Edge-style dotted 8th note delays etc) but what we haven’t seen is the ‘Chase Mode’ whereby the pedal cycles through each of these subdivisions automatically, giving you some quite original spatial effects that all still adhere to your tapped-in tempo! There are 5 variations to this too.

This is, above all else, a beautiful sounding analog delay so if you use it for nothing more than that, you’re still winning! But there is so much more happening here, it would be a shame not to explore! The Supa-Puss will open up your playing in so many new ways.

Specification

Tripps equipped the Supa-Puss with a total of six bucket-brigade chips, delivering up to 900 milliseconds of delay time. With the Tap Tempo switch, you can program in real time up to three full seconds of delay time for ethereal ambience. The Subdivision control allows you to set how your repeats are subdivided, and by switching to the unique Chase mode, you can set your repeats to cycle through each of the Subdivision values in different ways for maximum freak-out effects.

In addition to standard Delay and Feedback controls, Tripps included several controls for fine-tuning the sound of your repeats: Tone for shaping color, Gain for adding grit, and Speed and Depth controls for adding shimmering, liquid textures with the Supa-Puss’ LFO modulation circuit. For even further tweakability, Tripps added a true Mix control so you can set your desired blend of wet and dry signals.

Finally, the Supa-Puss has an expression pedal jack so you hook up an expression pedal for continuous, real-time control over the Supa-Puss’ delay time.

Main Features:
  • 900 milliseconds of delay time via knob control; 3 seconds of delay time via Tap Tempo
  • Subdivision control with Chase mode
  • Tone, Speed, Gain & Depth controls
