What we say:
The Acoustic Singer Pro is a compact but powerful acoustic combo for performers who sing and play guitar together and require a high quality one-box solution for performing live.
This feature-rich amplifier gives out 120 watts of power which should be more than enough for small and medium sized acoustic gigs. There are two channels, one for voice and one for guitar, each with it’s own dedicated EQ and specific controls. The guitar channel gives you useful features like chorus, reverb and an Acoustic Resonance control for bringing a little bit of ‘natural’ tone to piezo-equipped guitars. The mic channel has delay/Echo, an separate reverb, an anti-feedback notch filter and phantom power for using condenser mics.
Relative to them both are the Harmony and Looper sections. These are both footswitchable or operable from the front panel. The Harmony section takes harmonic information from your guitar chords and supplies a low, unison or high harmony that accurately corresponds and relates to your singing and playing. It’s most impressive!
The looper is something that Boss are deservedly renowned for: their RC units are arguably the most popular loopers in the world! Looping really opens up solo performances and allows you to be creative with your writing, arranging and performing. Together with the harmony section, you can build up some very complicated pieces of music on the fly.
The key here is quality: the mic preamp is great, the Acoustic Resonance control can really get some realistic tones from your guitar and the effects are all top-notch. In short, it’s like having a good sheen of decent production on your entire performance, set up and regulated by you!
Even the outputs are comprehensive: there are two balanced XLR outs for occasions when a large PA is required (the Acoustic Singer Pro can then act as a preamp and a monitor) and a USB out for going straight into your laptop. Boss have thought of everything you could need apart from a guitar, a voice and some great songs.
