Very good guitar for the price, nice features and great sound, excellent step up for a beginner.

Went into the shop to buy a step up from my Yamaha C40 , i had two models clear in my mind the Yamaha Cg122mc or the Cordoba C5. the shop assistant “Jack” also put the Alvarez Ac65 into the mix. All guitars sounded great , however , despite having spent hours online researching the other models & “best intermediate classical guitar “ i could not deny the Alvarez just felt better . its really well made , , solid construction , low action , sounds amazing . I spend about 2 hours in the shop rotating between models wanting to like the Yamaha or Cordoba better but kept coming back to the Alvarez.

It is a basic instrument, but is more than I expected from a budget guitar. Might as well be a concert instrument compared to my 20 year old learner classical. It was heavier than the other classicals I tried in the shop in the price range, but it sounded better by a stretch. Initially, I was hesitant to go for a brand I hadn't heard of, but I am very happy with my choice. The folks working in the Edinburgh shop were great.
