What we say:

At A Glance:

The Martin 000-28 Re-Imagined, as the name would suggest, is a fresh take on an old model. Although subtle, these changes are welcome and breathe new life into this old favourite. The clear coat finish has a tinted toner to give this model a more aged look, the headstock bears an older style logo and open gear tuners, aged binding around the body and neck, and the neck shape has a modern carve for a more comfortable playing experience. All of these small changes contribute to giving this series its fresh take, in keeping with Martin's heritage. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks?

Features We Love:

000 Body Size

The 000 body size lies comfortably between a parlour and a dreadnought. This makes it comfortable in your lap, but still boasts plenty of volume and projection.

Tonewood Combination

Taking advantage of a classic combination, the 000-28 employs spruce and rosewood for the body construction. This tried and tested combination is suited to fingerpicking, keeping plenty of the low end but focusing more on the upper frequencies.

Modified Low Oval Neck Shape

This neck shape is suited to those with smaller hands or who prefer a slimmer neck. With this model, you'll be able to play for hours on end without hand pain getting in your way.

Who Is It For?

Guitarists looking to upgrade to a premium level acoustic and those after an instrument with a balanced yet sonically rich sound.

Highlights:

  • 000 body size offers great comfort while still producing great projection
  • A tonewood combination best suited to fingerpicking style
  • Crafted to a very high standard

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (8 reviews)

Well, I am just someone who enjoys playing for my own enjoyment, not to perform. This guitar puts the ball in my court, no excuses, if it sounds wrong, it is not the guitar! I play James Taylor, Neil Young, Eagles and this guitar really likes picking. Very responsive and lots of volume. Strumming is good too, especially quietly. It is very light and comfortable. Also, a 28 is a thing of subtle beauty. All the best materials but understated, not flashy. Quite an honour to own one. Oh and you get a super hard case.

This guitar plays and sounds incredible. Perfect match! Small body, big sound, phenomenal Martin tone. Love it!

Massive purchase, so had to think long and hard about getting the right guitar but for me the 000-28 is it. Played it and the HD-28 for over two hours in store and it has the perfect combination and tone for finger style bluegrass and strumming. Yes, there are much cheaper guitars out there with different tonal qualities but heck, one guitar is never enough.

Best guitar purchase I have made

Fantastic guitar, sounds great.

Love it, took some time to select it, but its bright sound with clear treble, good base and impressively firm middle range fitted what I was looking for.
