What we say:
Kelton Swade's vintage replica guitars are amongst the most sought after instruments in the high-end market. Kelton single handedly crafts each guitar from the best quality timber blanks, sympathetically distressing the woodwork, finish and hardware to provide musicians with guitars that go beyond mere 'relics' into becoming true replicas of prized classics from the golden age of the 50s and 60s.
Each guitar is, in Kelton's own words, a 'functional piece of art' and we wholeheartedly agree. The attention to detail is stunning and the sense of passion is palpable.
This lovely Kelton Swade original is a ‘52 era T-type known as an AVRT. Beginning with a fine slab of aged Swamp Ash for the body, Swade carefully shapes and sculpts his guitars, finishing them in nitrocellulose and distressing them carefully to complete the feel. This particular AVRT is finished in a shade of vintage-correct White Blonde.
Kelton has chosen a medium C-shaped profile for this guitar, using a player-friendly 9.5" radius fingerboard adorned with 6105-sized nickel frets.
A pair of low output, vintage-voiced single coil pickups from Kent Armstrong translate all of the chime and detail of the lively sounding wood, making this a guitar that really sings!
