What we say:

At A Glance

Martin have produced a revolutionary new design with the SC13E. It is definitely one to take notice of due to the plethora of player friendly features that this forward thinking model has to offer.

Instantly striking, the cutaway gives the player increased fret access which can change the whole way this guitar is used. While Martin are well known for their excellent acoustic guitars (which this certainly is), the SC13E has been designed with the electric element in mind.

A patent-pending Sure Align neck is at the heart of this guitar. The neck has been created to make playing as fluent and comfortable as possible. This is a major benefit because once you start playing this guitar, you will not want to stop. A Fishman MX-T takes care of the electric component. This would be ideal for the musician who requires a guitar that can excel both acoustically and when plugged in. It will likely change the way you approach playing an acoustic instrument and can lead to a whole new world of possibilities.

Features We Love:

Sure Align Neck System

By removing the heel, Martin have skillfully given superb access all the way up the neck. All 20 frets can be played with ease making it a great choice for the guitarist who wants to do more than just strum chords. A low profile velocity neck adds to this effortless playing experience. The neck is also removable which may certainly be of benefit to some players. The result is a revolutionary design that makes playing as enjoyable as it should be.

Body Design

Not only is there impressive upper fret access due to the new cutaway but the asymmetrical design produces a full and balanced sound. Allowing more gain before encountering any feedback, it is the perfect choice for playing live. It allows the player more room for expression and experimentation, taking the electric-acoustic to new levels of possibilities.

Fishman Electronics

The Fishman MX-T expands the possibilities of this model even further. Contained within the soundhole, it is neatly housed but easily accessible. The tone produced is rich and natural due to the spruce top. This makes it great for a whole range of styles. It also features a tuner, making life even easier.

Highlights:

  • A cutting-edge design offering the latest in guitar development
  • Perfect for the performing musician due to impressive versatility
  • Another top class model from Martin's impressive Road Series

Overall Rating 5/5 (20 reviews)

How to find where to start . Sound quality, excellent, I only have small hands and the neck is so comfortable and able to play without any effort. Finish is amazing overall quality outstanding. I am so pleased with it, thank you Martin for making quality guitars??

I researched this product carefully, making comparison with the products of other companies. It is, as the reviewers claimed, easy to play and the quality is very good. Delighted with my purchase! I was hesitant about the soft-shell gig bag, but is is of a very high quality and fit for purpose!

Michael R. - 21/10/2021

Arnie A. - 13/10/2021

Graham P. - 27/9/2021

nice guitar I have another order in plus I'm looking for support with the Martin ASC13e ? = keep up the good work

Edward O. - 16/9/2021

It's the perfect acoustic for electric players like me. Fretboard accessibility is excellent, so I can reach the riffs and chords which I use when playing electric guitars. It's light, and not too bulky. I like the noise it makes. The sound-hole mounted tuner is very cunning.

Looks and sounds great and has a lovely low action which suits my tired old fingers!

John L. - 14/12/2020

Enormous voice on a relatively small guitar, absolutely gorgeous full sound and mixes extremely well with a baritone voice.

Iain C. - 12/12/2020

Fantastic guitar. Worried about buying unseen but need not have worried.well packed.

Alan T. - 2/12/2020

It's a Martin - 'nuff said

Stefan L. - 29/9/2020

This is the perfect acoustic guitar if you?re mainly an electric player, all fret access, low action , great playability. Not for your diehard acoustic players I think, this won?t stand up against your big expensive brands tonaly but for the likes of me with not the greatest strength in my hands anymore it?s fab, just fun to play!

Played a few times, Looks and sounds great

esau m. - 27/8/2020

Plays like a dream. Amazingly low action for an acoustic, but every note rings clear. Has a full , rich sound in the room with sparkling highs. The built-in tuner is dead handy. I was absolutely delighted with this guitar.

Mark J. - 5/6/2020

Excellent guitar that suits my needs

Tony W. - 3/6/2020

Great guitar, very easy to play and versatile with the revolutionary heeless design. Slightly spikey on the treble strings when amped so requires a fair bit of compression to smooth it out. I also prefer skin rather than nail contact on the strings for the same reason. Really pleased I made this purchase.
