About PRS Wood Library

PRS Wood Library guitars are special order instruments. They are custom made using timbers selected form PRS' Wood Library. The PRS Wood Library is a room in their Stevensville, Maryland premises which stores a rich abundance of wood blanks of all descriptions. All types and grades of wood are present here and they are from all over the world.

The idea behind the Wood Library is not to offer the top graded woods available per se. The aim is to give custom pieces the opportunity to be made with non-standard wood choices. Some examples include Copperhead Maple for the carved top, Flame Maple for the neck and Ziricote for the fingerboard.

At guitarguitar, we hand select every piece of timber used for our Wood Library PRS guitars. This ensures that we bring you only the most spectacular looking and sounding wood combinations. Visit your nearest branch of guitarguitar to see Wood Library examples for yourself. You can also browse the entire selection online and select your favourite for next day delivery!

Frequently Asked Questions about PRS Wood Library

Question: Which guitarguitar stores stock PRS Wood Library guitars?
Every guitarguitar store gets stock of Wood Library PRS's from time to time. Since stock is unpredictable due to the bespoke nature of the instruments, stores all end up with different items. Have a look at your preferred electric guitar's product page here on the website. You will be able to see where it is located.
Question: Which models can be ordered as Wood Library guitars?
Any of the Core line of PRS guitars can be used as the basis for a Wood Library guitar. It is just a matter of selecting woods to swap out and substitute for other woods. In practice we often decide on Custom 24's because they are by far and wide the most popular PRS USA models.
Question: Are any of these guitars left handed?
Yes! The Wood Library Custom 24 is available in left handed form at guitarguitar.
