About Danelectro Guitars

Danelectro Guitars were formed in Red Bank, New Jersey in 1947 by Nathan Daniel (the 'Dan' in Danelectro) and has been an important part of rock n roll history ever since.

Initally producing amplifiers, Danelectro started making the guitars in 1954. These original guitar designs used masonite and poplar to reduce costs, and coupled with the single-coil pickups encased in lipstick tubes they created something truly unique and iconic.

Never afraid to take risks or stand out from their competitors they offer more than just standard guitars, these quirky designs include doubleneck, baritone and 12 string options, as well as electric sitars. If that wasn't enough, Danelectro has a history of making affordable guitar pedals, and more recently their newer premium offerings which draw from a rich heritage.

Many players have sought out a Danelectro guitar for their retro style and the Dano's killer tone, and they are equally likely to be found in the hands of a famous guitar player or an up-and-coming musician.
