About Manson Guitars

Manson Guitars as they're known today specialise in electric guitars, but their history stretches back to the 1960s when Andy Manson built his first guitar, and proceed to specialise in building and repairing acoustic instruments. His brother Hugh Manson then got involved with building guitars, forming a partnership which continued for many years before Hugh decided to specialise in electric guitars, which is the Manson Guitar Works we know today.

Through their history Manson have made many adventurous and wild custom instruments for some of the biggest names in music, including Matt Bellamy, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin and Dave Grohl. The partnership with Matt Bellamy of Muse is perhaps most enduring, with the silhouette of a Manson guitar being instantly recognisable to any fan of Muse. Matt even purchased the majority share of the company in 2019!

One of the most interesting features on many Manson guitars is the Sustainiac pickup, which can keep a note ringing infinitely. With their bold silhouette and multiple price points, these are great guitars for anyone looking for something different.

Manson electric guitars roots can be traced all the way back to the 1960's with brothers Andy and Hugh Manson creating both acoustic and electric instruments. Throughout the 70's, 80's, 90's and beyond Manson guitar works continued to build custom instruments and soon racked up a star studded roster including John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, Noel Gallagher, Hank Marvin, and of most notably Matt Bellamy.

Moving into the 2000's and 2010's Manson guitars moved from strength to strength aiming to make every aspect of their guitars Made in the UK where possible. In 2019 Matt Bellamy bought a majority share of the company which has allowed Manson guitars to move to even greater heights. With the introduction of the Meta series these guitars are built in collaboration with Cort and allow even greater access for Manson and Matt Bellamy fans to get the perfect guitar.
