What we say:
Ibanez made the Gio range in order to supply all guitarists with a good quality rock guitar that would sound good and be reliable but also be very affordable. Importantly, it proudly displays the Ibanez logo on the headstock, not some other name for a cheaper range. This proves that Ibanez are serious about their commitment to making this an affordable range of real quality.
The SR bass shape is Ibanez's most popular by quite a margin and you can find it on all ranges from entry level Gio Series to the Premium range and beyond. It's a well balanced and comfortable shape that doesn't really belong to any particular genre so you can use an SR for everything! It started as a valid alternative to the classic bass shapes but has become something of a classic itself.
With it's poplar body and maple neck, this model is spec'd for success. A pair of decent Dynamix J pickups and a superb level of build quality - for any price - make this a bass to aim for.
