Takamine give us a quality dreadnought 12 string as part of their top of the line Pro Series. The P3D12 is made with a solid Cedar top and solid Sapele back with laminate sides. The P3D gives a full and warm sound full of detail and nuance that retains the bright shimmer of a great 12 string but anchors it in a warmer climate. There is a dimension and sparkle to this model that is very musical! Of course, being made of solid timbers for the top and back, this will vibrate more and improve the more you play it: the depth will continue for years. This model has a venetian cutaway in the lower bout to facilitate upper fret playing.

Visually the P3D is an understated affair, though there are nice details like the wooden soundhole rosette, the wooden dot-in-dot inlays and the gold & amber tuners. The guitar has a natural satin finish.

Taking the P3D on stage? A fantastic CT4B pickup and preamp system is installed to give you a great live sound, too. This system has a powerful preamp mounted on the shoulder of the guitar which includes a 3-band EQ and an electronic tuner to keep you right at all times!

This guitar is a very good companion for a singer-songwriter and acquits itself admirably well on stage and off.
