What we say:

Originally founded in 1992 to make quality violins, Qian Ni, who was in the USQ studying classical music, expanded his enterprise firstly to make bows (all produced without power tools, the 19th Century way) and then, identifying a need in the market for excellent archtop guitars, set about the task in the same manner: hiring world-class professionals to teach keen up and coming woodworkers. The idea paid off handsomely: Eastman are respected and revered throughout the industry by players and builders alike for their beauty, quality, playability and sound. Their archtop guitars and mandolins are world-class instruments for players of all backgrounds.

This beautiful A-style Mandolin is made of all-solid timbers including Spruce, Mahogany and Ebony. Made, in Eastman's own words 'old world' by hand, this handsome instrument is high quality.

This MD404 resonates beautifully and delivers a sound that's rich and pleasant, fitting into an ensemble sound with ease. A chrome tailpiece and Mother of Pearl inlays set off the satin lacquer beautifully to make for a mandolin that ticks every box!

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 4/5 (1 reviews)

as a first time buyer of a mandolin which I bought to learn on I can't really compare it with any other kind, but I think it was money well spent as I don't intend buying a better one in the future.I would recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one on looks alone. The only minor comment is that I didn't know there was a small box in the case containing straps as there was no mention of it when I purchased it.
