Gretsch’s classic chambered body Jet is back in this special Vintage Select Edition.
Bringing focus and sustain to the signature Gretsch sound, this G6128T-59 from the Professional Collection uses two TV Jones Classic humbuckers to help provide a sound that is as Gretsch as possible: rich, clear and full of twang. These are of course based on Gretsch's own Filter’Trons and are low powered, trebly humbuckers that are significantly different sounding to more straightforward humbucker pickups. In out opinion they sound and behave more like a single coil but with more width and of course less noise! We love TV Jones pickups and we are glad that Gretsch as a company have really embraced them on high end models like this Jet.
Other elements that set this Vintage Select Jet apart from, say, the Player's Edition include aged white binding, an aged plexi pickguard and a fantastic V-shaped neck profile.
Presence and charisma are important elements to the appeal of Gretsch guitars and this Jet, in classic Black to contrast the wealth of chrome, does not disappoint!

The Duo Jet™ is the Gretsch flagship “solid body” guitar, with signature power and punch coming from its chambered mahogany construction, which magnifies harmonic richness by letting air resonate between the top and body for livelier and more articulate tone. 1959 marked the first year that Filter’Tron™ pickups appeared on the Jet, and the dual TV Jones® Classic™ pickups on this vintage-style baby replicate that unmistakable vintage Filter’Tron™ sound to fabulous sonic effect.
