What we say:

At A Glance:

This particular D-28 is part of Martin's Reimagined Series. The Reimagined Series is, as the name suggests, a new perspective on the famous Martin Standard range. The changes are subtle but welcome: the clear coat finish has a tinted toner to give a more aged appearance; the headstock bears an older-style logo & open gear tuners; the body has aged binding and the neck is a modern carve for a more comfortable feel. All of these little changes accumulate to give the Reimagined Series a fresh, refined look that is entirely in keeping with Martin & Co’s rich heritage.

There really aren't any genres you can't tackle with a D28. It has a sound that's bottom heavy, top heavy and also has a great midrange presence. Strum it, pick a note, tap out some harmonics: however those notes come out of this is how acoustic guitars are meant to sound.

Features We Love:

Dreadnought Body Shape

Martin's Dreadnought body creates a rich tone with plenty of depth, clarity and character. The larger body also makes it great for strumming, giving a consistent volume and even tone without impacting your dynamic range.

Modified Low Oval Neck Shape

This neck shape is suited to those with smaller hands or who prefer a slimmer neck. With this model, you'll be able to play for hours on end without hand pain getting in your way.

Martin Forward Shifted X-Brace System

Martin's X-Brace system dates back almost 200 years, designed to present the perfect balance between reliability and optimised tonal quality, in a guitar that will last a lifetime. This "forward-shifted" design moves the X towards the neck, retaining support and rigidity whilst allowing the section behind the bridge to resonate. The result is a reliable guitar that is loud and offers a spectacular bass response, pronounced tone and singing resonance.

Highlights:

  • Dreadnought body shape is great for projection and volume
  • Vintage Tone System allows Martin to achieve specific tones and looks from Martin's history
  • Forward shifted X-Brace projects great tone

Best guitar that I have ever been fortunate enough to own. Wonderful sound, great sustain, lovely smooth neck, beautiful finish. Quality instrument. Expensive but very very good.

I had my heart set on an HD-28: the vibe, the trim, the history. it was a great guitar but I didn't quite bond with it. Tried everything else in the Newcastle shop and in the end I just couldn't put this one D-28 down. I was always told 'don't buy the guitar you think you want, buy the guitar you can't put down.' This D-28 was that guitar. I can't put it into words. The workmanship and playability is top-notch, as you'd expect from Martin, but this one has something extra - some vibe, some mojo, some sense that it'll match whatever I play and raise me. This one will be staying with me until I shuffle off this mortal coil.

What a Guitar just sounds looks and plays awesome

Simon P. - 17/11/2021

The widened string spacing on the Re-Imagined D 28 feels good for finger style. If I change my mind, it?s only a matter of a new nut/bridge saddle. Wonderful guitar in every way.

Murray L. - 16/10/2021

Excellent product Top quality.

Greg J. - 12/8/2021

Comes with 13s which sound great but painful to play for me. Switched to 12s. Still sounds great, much less discomfort.

Carlos a. - 27/2/2018

I am very pleased with this guitar as it felt very natural to hold. After I had it re- set and action lowered it feels and plays brilliantly! I did not originally go to buy a Martin but now pleased that I did!
