Suhr Custom Classic Pro Trans Two Tone Tobacco Burst Swamp Ash MN

What we say:

Spec’d by us on our last trip out to Lake Elsinore, California, this highly appointed Custom Classic Pro guitar shows off the finest workmanship Suhr has to offer, at a price that’s way below what you might expect!

Combining our love of Swamp Ash with our hankering for ‘modded’-looking S-type guitars, we put together a specification that would deliver tones from sparkling to monstrous, with hot-rodded classic looks and a nod to both the 80s and the 50s.

The body is made from a hand-selected piece of Swamp Ash; literally taken from the below-the-water parts of southern wetland trees. The wood is not only light and resonant, but also airy and well-balanced. With its sweet, ever so slightly scooped sound, it's no mystery why Swamp Ash is one of the most desirable body tonewoods in existence. We finished it off with a fifties style Two Tone Tobacco Burst, just transparent enough to show the wood's gorgeous grain.

With the body colour in mind, we wanted to complete ‘that’ look with a maple neck. We opted for a neck shape with a ‘C Medium’ profile and a compound radius fingerboard (9-12”), giving you a preferable radius at the nut for chording & a flatter board higher up for choke-free solos! The frets themselves are medium sized and made of stainless steel for a lifetime’s playing.

The quality hardware continues with a set of Suhr locking tuners and a top-line Gotoh 510 bridge with a high-mass steel block for increased sustain and resonance. Equipped with Suhr's innovative SCII system for transparent noise reduction, this is the perfect mix of vintage and contemporary engineering. Sonically, we are very familiar with these units and didn’t have to think hard before picking them: this one instrument will easily guide you through 50s pop, to Nile Rodgers funk, and Hendrix squall. The resonance is unreal on this guitar!

We absolutely loved picking out these individual parts and having our dreams turned into reality by the masters at Suhr. We've been begging the guys at Suhr to make us a custom model for years and we couldn't be happier with the result. There are very few of these guitars available with this exact spec so please move fast if you’re interested!

Speccing this up as a one-off custom order would add a huge amount to the price tag so don’t miss out on this rare and excellent opportunity to own a hand-made dream guitar at a very reasonable price.

Amazing guitar, exceptional S type guitar. Brilliant service from guitarguitar as always

Open friendly guys. Happy to let my 18 year old son play multiple (and I do mean multiple) expensive guitars for a lengthy period without ever pressurizing him or making him feel like a nuisance. Probably the best selection of stock I've seen in a guitar shop in this part of the world. All round good experience and they should be close to the top of the list if you want to treat yourself to anything guitar related.
