What we say:

At A Glance:

A bold yet tasteful rethink on the SG, this model could have been a risky move but we think Gibson have nailed it!

Making a visual impact, the AA Figured Maple top also provides perks sonically. Combined with the Ebony fretboard, this combination offers a huge amount of sustain to get you through those massive bends and earthshattering chords!

The Ebony fretboard itself is also a new feature for this model, bringing with it an extra two frets for even more room to manoeuvre while you're soloing!

Features We Love:

Wood Combination

Making a strong visual impact is the AA maple top. This glorious top wood is not just for visual purposes however, but also goes great with the ebony fretboard sonically. This combination of woods gives you sustain for days. No longer will your bends die out unexpectedly while you're in the zone.

Extra Frets

Not only is the ebony fretboard itself new, two extra frets have also been added for this model, giving you two full octaves to play with! These two extra frets are made easy to access by the SG's classic body shape.

Asymmetrical Neck Profile

This guitar benefits from an asymmetrical neck shape meaning that it has been carved in such a way as to fit your hand as best it can. This provides comfort to the player, especially during extended sets, making the guitar easier to wield as a whole.

Pros:

  • Woods have been specially selected to give a great sound as well as looks
  • Extra frets give your solos more room to breathe when improvising
  • Asymmetrical neck profile will sit perfectly within your hand

Other Things To Consider:

Why not have a look at our whole Gibson SG range?

Condition Report

This is an excellent guitar but it has a slight crack in the centre of the treble volume control knob. There are also some very light polish marks on the high gloss finish. Hardly noticeable.
