Fresh from Epiphone is the new generation of the Kat, the Uptown Kat ES. It takes the swagger of the original design and loads it with a number of great features. The semi-hollow archtop gives the player a fantastic open and full sound which is then built upon with a great pickup choice. A 5 ply maple/poplar body fits firmly with the mahogany neck. A Slim Taper C profile makes for an easy playing experience. One of the many charms of this model is the ease of switching across to it after using a Les Paul due to the familiar feel. It is bursting with retro style and adds an exciting new twist to a well loved design.

These newly designed FB720 pickups are a joy to the ears. They have been voiced in a way that produces a warm sound with bright highs. They are very responsive to the level of attack, allowing the player to create the tone they wish from the fine nuances of their playing.
