What we say:

At A Glance

The Epiphone Flying V from the Inspired by Gibson Collection is a great addition to their new range of guitars. They have beautifully recreated the classic 1958 model and have added some player friendly features to give you the iconic look with the best playability - all of this for a very reasonable price. The ProBucker pickups deliver all of your tonal needs while the Vintage Deluxe tuners offer great tuning stability and ease of use. The mahogany body and neck feel well constructed and the classic ebony finish certainly looks the part. This is yet another great instrument from Epiphone.

Features We Love:

String-Thru Tailpiece

Part of the classic design, this not only looks the part but also offers great functionality. The nickel finish on the tailpiece ties in with the pickups and other hardware to give you a classy look. It does the job of holding your strings securely in place and also gives some great resonance.

ProBucker Pickups

With a ProBucker 3 in the bridge and a ProBucker 2 in the neck, the big humbucker tones are full and rich sounding. Huge chords and blistering solos all cut through with ease making it perfect for rock and metal. The clean tones also sound great so more is on offer here than just the heavier side of music.

Graph Tech Nut

Often overlooked, the nut is a very important part of a guitar. It plays a huge role in the overall quality of the instrument due to the constant contact it has with the strings. Graph Tech are known for producing high quality guitar parts and the addition of this nut means that playability, performance and tone are all taken care of.

Highlights:

  • An iconic guitar with great playability
  • Perfect for those looking for something different from single/double cut models
  • Epiphone brand build quality

Customer reviews

Overall Rating 5/5 (3 reviews)

I ordered the flying V to be delivered to my home. On playing the guitar there was a fret issue and the guitar did not play very well. I took the guitar to the Epsom store and Alex (the guitar tech) said he would make some adjustments to the setup. I collected the guitar less than a week later and guitar plays amazingly. Guitar Guitar have been amazing in resolving a poorly setup guitar. I wouldn't recommend buying a cheaper Epiphone as they are poorly setup but would recommend GG's for their excellent service!!

I have fancied getting a flying V for quite some time and I'm glad that I've finally got one. It's an excellent guitar, looks, feels and plays great. No issues, the only thing I have done is slightly lower the action. If you're not sure I would say go and try one, it's a top quality guitar.
