What we say:

At A Glance:

At it's release, the J-55 carried on the tradition of Gibson round-shoulder acoustics. One of four Jumbo guitars on offer from Gibson in the 1930s, the J-55 became a highly desired guitar decades later and is still highly regarded within the guitar community.

Features We Love:

Round-Shoulder Body Shape

Carrying on from where the Gibson Hummingbird Acoustic shape started, the round-shoulder shape is highly sought after. This comes mainly from the love of it's sweet, warm tone with loud and clear high notes, singing over a balanced and defined mid-range.

Quality Tonewoods

The use of a Thermally Aged red spruce top and mahogany back and sides creates a great soundboard for your guitar to resonate from. With the use of these great quality woods, you can be sure that this guitar will sing loud and clear whenever you pick it up.

Highlights:

  • Highly regarded body shape, known for it's sweet yet warm tone
  • Quality tonewoods ensure the guitar's sound is able to easily resonate and project itself outward
