The NTX3 is made with a solid Sitka spruce soundboard and an ebony fingerboard. Yamaha have ensured that the most important elements of playing - sound, feel and comfort - are the number one priority. Costs are kept at a reasonable level by using solid walnut for the back and sides, and by keeping the finish Matte.
Atmosfeel Pickup System
Atmosfeel is Yamaha's state of the art acoustic pickup system. By coming the sound from key positions in the guitar with an under-saddle piezo pickup for the low end, a contact pickup under the soundboard captures the high frequencies, while an internal microphone captures the mid frequencies as well as the resonance from the body. The result is a beautifully natural sounding guitar that doesn't sound shrill when amplified.
