The Ibanez AS53 Artcore Sunburst Red Flat is a back-to-basics design for those after a no-frills hollowbody. Ibanez Artcore guitars are a credible and sensible choice for players on a budget looking for a good quality and well finished hollowbody instrument. They are affordable but they aren't 'cheap' versions of more expensive models.

They are their own range with their own feel, vibe, and sound that adds a lot to the integrity of the Ibanez brand. As you may be able to tell, we are quite taken with the AS53! We think it's an excellent playing instrument by anyone's terms. Whether you need an affordable gigging guitar or want a reliable 2nd instrument, this will step up to the plate with looks, playability, vibe and attitude.

Classic Looks

The AS53 has a full sized semi-hollow body constructed of linden for the top, back, and sides. A 'flat' finish (matte & textured by the wood grain) gives this stripped back guitar a really cool vibe. This is echoed by the open coil pickups and singular volume and tone controls. Great looks without any fuss.

Infinity R Pickups

These open coil pickups are a pair of Infinity R models, the same as you'd find on an RG which is a real shredders guitar! These are much hotter pickups than you'd maybe expect to find on a semi-hollow guitar and can do smooth soft tones or push some gain! While it isn't designed for high gain, you may be surprised just how 'rock' this guitar can sound!

Quik Change III Tailpiece

Keeping your strings held firmly in place, the Quik Change III tailpiece works with the Gibraltar Performer bridge to create an effortless playing experience. It also makes string changes quick and easy, something they maybe had in mind when they came up with the name!
