The Fender Custom Shop 1951 Precision Bass® Relic® in Super Aged Nocaster Blonde pays tribute to the revolutionary instrument that changed the course of musical history. Built with meticulous attention to detail, this bass features a carefully selected two-piece ash body with an offset seam, finished in nitrocellulose lacquer with a Super Heavy Relic® treatment that authentically recreates the look and feel of a well-worn vintage instrument.
The one-piece 3A quartersawn flame maple neck is shaped to period-correct specifications and finished in nitrocellulose lacquer, featuring 20 medium jumbo frets (6150) and classic black Micarta dot inlays. True to the original's specifications, this P-Bass includes a bone nut with a 1.70" width and vintage-style tuning machines.
At its heart is a Custom Shop hand-wound '55 Precision Bass® pickup, delivering the warm, thunderous tone that revolutionized popular music. The simple yet effective control layout features master volume and tone controls with knurled flat-top knobs. Period-correct details include a 2-saddle vintage Precision Bass® bridge with fiber saddles, nickel/chrome hardware, and a 1-ply black phenolic pickguard.
Other premium features include a 1951 P Bass® “U”, 12” Radius, Stainless Steel Flatwound Strings (.055-.105) Disc-Style String Tree, Deluxe Hardshell Case, Strap, Certificate of Authenticity.
