Meet the Artist: Emily Roberts
Emily Roberts is a British guitarist and composer. She is the lead guitarist of the successful indie rock band The Last Dinner Party, as well as a former session player and solo artist. An avid St Vincent player, Emily quickly earned an endorsement from her favourite guitar brand, Music Man, which she plays at every show and has used for the majority of recordings with the band.
Emily’s playing is intricately theatrical and influenced by Brian May, having briefly played in a Queen tribute band. She is also influenced by a variety of other guitarists such as Emily Remler, Mick Ronson, Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp and Prince.
After graduating from Chetham’s School of Music, and subsequently the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Emily has performed across a wide range of genres and settings, most notably as a session guitarist for the West End musical Six.
In 2022, she released her solo jazz EP, The Persistence of Memory, which received critical acclaim, before joining The Last Dinner Party later that year. Alongside lead guitar, she plays mandolin and flute, sings backing vocals, and contributes to the band’s songwriting.
What’s This Event All About
During our event, Emily Roberts will play through a musical piece, showcasing her signature Queen-inspired licks before opening a live Q&A with the audience.
Upon the end of the evening, all attendees will have the opportunity to take a photo with Emily Roberts or grab an autograph, so feel free to bring along your album copies for Emily to sign.
