This handsome lap steel is part of Gretsch’s Electromatic range. Designed of course to sit on the lap, this Hawaiian-style Lap Steel is one charismatic instrument.
Made with a large satisfying chunk of Mahogany, this fabulous instrument uses one chrome-covered single coil pickup to get it’s rootsy and exotic sounds.
The strings go through the body for greater resonance and the bridge has a chrome cover for your palm to rest on as you twang away.
The white plastic fingerboard (which of course you never really touch) has 28 frets and a serious on unusually shaped fret markers like triangles and diamonds to lend some character and style to the visuals. This model, the G5700, has a Tobacco Sunburst finish.
The retro Art Deco-style control panel sports a master volume and master tone: the volume is close to the bridge so volume swells are easy to perform.
