This 'unlatching' model is used for momentary switching; in other words, the pedal only stays on whilst pressed by your foot. As soon as you take your foot away, the pedal immediately reverts to it's off status.

Specification

Roland/BOSS offers two types of sturdy metal footswitches for different applications. The FS-5U (silver) is a momentary "unlatch"-type footswitch, and the FS-5L (black) is a latch-type footswitch with an LED to indicate status. Both footswitches can be connected using ordinary guitar cables. Please consult your owner's manual for compatibility.

Opened up a new world for my very old BOSS ME5 effects board. Should have bought this pedal in the 80s.

super tough pedals I have 4 now, these are linked to my Roland amp which is amazing, there are better pedals out there, but for the price I am really happy with them, as I am a beginner guitarist these suit me fine.
